IsraelThe stay at the hotel was exceptional. They upgraded our room from a standard room to a suite because we informed the hotel staff that we were coming for a honeymoon vacation. The room was clean and tidy. The pool and spa area is pleasant, clean and fun. We had dinner in the hotel's restaurant which is in the basement of the hotel which is actually a renovated castle. It was a special experience thanks to the look of the restaurant and the delicious food. highly recommend!

Capital of the Italian Tyrol
Bolzano is one of those cases that are difficult to describe without risking undermining its beauty and complexity. A witness of the conflicts and renaissance of Europe, this Italian city is the capital of the German speaking province of South Tyrol. Located in the Adige River Valley, it is surrounded by hills crowned by castles, and framed by the Dolomites Alps.
After reaching the local railway station, follow the Bahnhofsallee or Viale della Stazione and you’ll reach Walther Square, where the beautiful Cathedral of the Assumption of Our Lady is located. Bolzano is a perfect spot for exploring the lower reaches of the Dolomites with very good train connections to Verona, Venice, Innsbruck and beyond.
The old town is gorgeous to walk around and off course the must see attraction of The Bolzano Iceman. Otzi, 5300 year natural Mummy should be number 1 on the 'cannot be missed list'

Would like to go back prepared to do the walks and hikes in the area. The old city and market were charming. Loved the Archeology museum and learning about Otzi the Iceman. Cable car and train a great introduction to the possibilities available for future visits.

The museums were well laid out and interesting, also reasonably priced. It was a lot busier than we were expecting & less friendly than other Italian cities. There were many shops, quite pricey, as well as a variety of street stalls, so a busy bustling City.

The city is incredibly charming, with a vibe that feels much more Austrian than Italian. It’s also surrounded by plenty of beautiful hikes (which I wish I’d had time to do!). I only stayed for two days, and while one day is enough to see the city itself, the real highlight is exploring the trails and nature nearby. The food is distinctly Austrian, hearty and delicious, and the bakeries are absolutely fantastic.

Felt like Austria in Italy.
Felt like Austria in Italy. Wonderful, relatively easy hike along the Freud Promenade (after a wonderfully long cable car ride with panoramic Alpine views) to a village where he got married and summered frequently. The Great Dolomites road was stunning. Otis the Copper Age mummy was well displayed quite interesting.

Breakfast is so good with beautiful view if you seat outside. Room is very clean and comfortable bed.
Restaurant is amazing with collection of wines and delicious dishes. Hotel offers free 2 bus tickets for us to go to downtown of Bolzano. Bus station is in front of the hotel.

The food at Bad St Isidor is really incredible. I highly recommend having breakfast and dinner at the hotel for the convenience and also the exceptional quality of the meals. Some of the best food I've had in a long time, all with a beautiful view of the mountains and Bolzano.

Hotel Hotel Stiegl Scala was a good option to stay close to the city center of Bolzano at a reasonable price. The rooms are nice and well equipped and staff very friendly. We appreciated that there was a covered parking in front of the hotel (at a fee).
