ColombiaI’m traveling solo and value a host like Nico who really takes care of his guests. Check in was very easy, there’s easy parking at his property and the location is perfect to travel to the cities I wanted to visit and very close to the Fontane Bianche beach and a great beach bar. He suggested places to visit, restaurants, best routes and was always available for any questions I had. He provides a plentiful breakfast at the balcony overlooking the sea and my room was very clean, spacious, with everything in working order and with a terrace that includes a jacuzzi and has a beautiful sea view. I loved the facilities - also sustainable, quiet and how he made my stay very comfortable and enjoyable. I can highly recommend Villa Vega and I look forward to a much longer stay.

Very nicely decorated (the two Testa di Moro vases were beautiful), equipped with everything you need including the kitchen and washing mashine.
The best part was the outdoor space - the pool is perfect, the al fresco eating area ideal for eating outside, plus there are two additional outdoor areas that enable several members of the family/group to find a secluded place to read at the terrace or sunbath in the garden.
The host was very attentive and accomodating, allowing us a late check in/check out.
The location is also perfect, in a closed area with villas, but also close to the beach and places to buy groceries/local fruit and vegetables.
Everything perfect!

In truth, we didn't venture anywhere else other than the villa and the beach as we went there for a change away from the cities we were visiting, but there didn't seem to be a lot to do in the area besides that anyway. Fontane Bianche is not a town but rather a village. There are a lot of hotels and mainly villas for rent. During our vacations it was quiet and nice. A bit problematic was a shop and restaurant base. There are couple shops with not that great quality (we have been driving to Lidl around 30 km). There are literally 5 restaurants in the village where not all are always open. Two I can definitely recommend like the one always open and food quality has been great better even than in Syracuse. Those will be Malafemmina and La Capannina. Nice location with lovely beaches. Might be crowded at times, but several alternative options can be reached with short travelling. Located only 15 minutes away from Siracusa and its spectacular site of Ortigia, it also enables access to nice places such as Noto and Avola. Fontane Bianche is just a small resort, with few hotels, restaurants and many private residences or B&Bs. But it has beautiful long beach, with few great prepared Lidos.
