We periodically visit Perugia when we are in Italy. It's the right size hilltop town if you want meander for 2, 3 days. It's large enough for you to have lots of things to do and see, and small enough for you to manage the layout. One of our favorite cities in Italy.

Perugia is home to many fine restaurants and truffles figure prominently in their cuisine. The town is compact and easy to get around. A must see is the underground city that exists below the city near the Piazza Italia.

Perugia, in the region of Umbria is a fascinating place. Having driven all over northern Italy and visiting towns from Turin, to Milan, to Lake Como, Venice, and Trieste, I can honestly say Umbria is tops with towns like Assissi, Spoletto, and Gubio among others. Stunning landscapes, rich history, medieval walled cities and much more.. It is unique and quite different from all the other regions. Don't miss Umbria and especially Perugia.

Beautiful medieval hill town with a dynamic contemporary energy centred around the universities. Exceptional history tours, walks to fascinating historical sites through the town, reasonable restaurants and bars. Good hub for day trips to other smaller villages in the Umbria region.

The city is spectacularly located on top of a hill, with impressive Etruscan and Roman architecture on top of which medieval and Renaissance additions bring charm to a typically Italian town. The uphill historical center is well connected with the larger lower town by busses and a funny mini-metro which runs every two minutes. There are eateries everywhere, for all the tastes and pockets. Chocolate is the star of Perugia, with many colorful and sweets shops. Lots of tourist attractions to enjoy: architecture, museums, cathedral, churches, underground structures.

Perugia is a beautiful city - very vibrant with lots of students. I loved walking around and took loads of photos of quaint streets, incredible interiors of the cultural sites and the views across the hills - especially at sunset.
Highly recommend the Osteria al Priori to eat - I went twice! You need to book as it is popular. Also recommend Cantalione restaurant.
Assisi, Spello and Spoleto are all close by train and each is worth a day's visit.
I felt totally comfortable as a woman travelling on my own in Perugia and surrounding towns.

If you are lucky enough to stay here, you should!! Stunningly beautiful, peaceful property in a great location, very easy to get to into town. The villa is gorgeous and comfortable, we could have easily lived here for months! The host Vincenzo was as gracious and accomodating as they come, going above and beyond for us and made us feel so welcome. A true Italian experience and our only choice when we return to Perugia, without a doubt! Our favourite stay in Italy by far.

Clean comfy room with good a/c controlled by the front desk not the old panel in the room. Seats table and fridge for snacks, handy at 39 deg outside. Good parking. Taxis €20 to perugia, but easy parking there if you drive in.
Staff were all really kind and helpful and not speaking Italian was fine.
For a small hotel, reasonably priced with parking and breakfast, we thought this was great. Allowed an early checkin as the room was ready which was great when it was 35+ degrees!

Fabulous traditional family run hotel in a quiet little street in Perugia old town. Wonderful host with fluent English and a sense of humour 😊 happily helped with bags, taxis, directions, etc. Super comfortable bed. Wish I could have stayed longer!

This is a beautiful boutique hotel in the centre of Perugia. The staff were so helpful with our bags and giving us parking guidance. Our room was spacious and comfortable and the breakfast was tasty. Grazie e buona fortuna:-)

Location of the Hotel was very near to the center of the city. Hotel was very clean. Staff was very helpful. Would definitely consider to go again when I will visit Perugia.
