United StatesWhat is not to like?! The property is one of 5 beautiful similar buildings on a wonderful street and location in Rapallo. Excellent base to explore local gems like Santa Margherita Ligure, Recco, and Camogli. Perfect location for everything, including the ferry and the local market along the street on certain days. We got lucky to experience the chocolate festival as well! The room was spacious with a great bathroom and the room had a perfect view right out to the water/beach/sunset. The breakfast is by far the best breakfast we have had at a non-brand name hotel in Europe! And as if it couldn't be any better, then there's the STAFF! Sara started us off on such a positive note with her very helpful and friendly emails prior to arrival, then to meet her in person was the icing on the cake. She is such a lovely caring person and she made us feel like family. She gave us fantastic restaurant recommendations. Elina greeted us also on arrival and when she found out we needed to check in quickly to make the ferry to Portofino (last one of the season), she immediately got us checked in quickly and then went out the door with us to show us exactly where to meet the ferry! And Greta. She is amazing and so friendly and incredibly helpful! We saw her often because she was working a lot, and she always greeted us like we were her brothers and with a big smile on her face. She helped with our requests and even created a small box to help us mail a package while there. All 3 of them helped us greatly while retrieving one of our pieces of luggage that was delayed and then had it placed in the room once it arrived. Needless to say, we loved our 6 days at this property and would come back in a heartbeat! Congrats on a winning place in every aspect and your staff are the best assets of all!

NetherlandsMy wife and I had a wonderful stay at the Excelsior Palace in Rapallo. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and smiles. The service was excellent, our room was clean, and the view was breathtaking. The hotel is in a fantastic location; within just a few minutes, we found ourselves in the city centre, enjoying a lovely walk. There is plenty of outdoor and underground parking, which was one of the main reasons I chose this hotel. Everything else turned out to be a delightful bonus.

United StatesEverything about this hotel was perfect, and we had such a wonderful time in Rapallo! The rooms were so clean and comfortable and the staff was amazing. We opted to have breakfast included, and I'm so glad I did. Everything was fresh and delicious. It really saved us from having to stumble out in search of food. We also had dinner there with some family who live in Rapallo, and the staff there is just so friendly and fun. We truly felt welcomed. The location is such a bonus as well. It's a short walk to the train station, but also across the street from Castello sul Mare and several short walks to places to swim. The ferry is also very close if you want to explore the other parts of the coast.

Unfortunately I was only spending one night and a morning there but from what I experienced it was a vibrant and busy town with a great atmosphere. The staff in the Ristorante Nettuno Lungamore had excellent food and extremely friendly staff who were very attentive to my dog 🐕 😀

Some real Italian wibe, noisy scooters and busy streets. Not too big, easy to walk around. Unfortunately it was not easy to find a good place to eat at the beginning of the week - mainly some hotels and bars.

The city center is nice, there are good restaurants but...
The city center is nice, there are good restaurants but every of them takes fee for sitting at the table - from 2 to 4 euros even to drink one cocktail.
Beaches are not very good in Rapallo, you need to go somewhere further for good sea. We went on the beaches after San-Margarita, it is better drive there or go by bus.

A nice size town. Easy access from the train station into town. Excellent coastal walk around to Portifino.
Best place to swim Santa Margherita Ligure. A short walk from Rapallo.
Lots of bars and restaurants to choose from.

Rapallo was fine but just to say a few more words about the hotel: the staff was very gracious, they even let us use some plates one day to have a lovely picnic outside and hooked us up with ice and glasses and things to enjoy our summer feast outdoors. They were so wonderful! They have created so much beauty on their property for guests to enjoy! It was truly lovely. I felt like I was in paradise!
Rapallo was just OK for me. It seemed touristy and the food in town was my least favorite of my trip. Like they didn't care much about the quality of food they are serving the tourists. I get it, but it was just not very thrilling. But that's the effects of tourism. I was also surprised to learn that the beaches cant be accessed by everyone, as in the US.
However, it is a beautiful town, the shops, bakeries, culinary stores are nice and I enjoyed them.

Rapallo is a beautiful town.
Rapallo is a beautiful town. Plenty of good restaurants, bars and shops. We travelled by train down to the Cinque Terre and all journeys were easy to navigate. The boat trip from Rapallo to Portofino was a lovey way to spend a few hours.

It's a very nicely renovated hotel with amazing views at the Mediterranean in Rapallo, a small town worth a stroll with very nice fish restaurants. The breakfast was good and they have a very nice and recommendable restaurant. We got an upgrade and enjoyed a suite room, very comfortable and nicely decorated. The staff was extremely helpful both at the reception and the restaurant. Rapallo it's a very good base to visit Portofino by boat and also the Cinque Terre.

The location is less than 10 mins from Rapallo train station, 5 mins from the beach, bus to the beach is right in front of the hotel and easy access to Portofino buses and ferries. The staffs were a dream! They helped us navigating the places we wanted to visit and always has a smile on their faces. Very accomodating and the breakfast buffet were so good! We will definitely book here again.

The location. Perfect. Best hotel location in Rapallo
I liked the half board service … sitting on the table enjoying the evening meal in full absolute leisure.
Me pressure by staff that they need the table. For me that was the best part of my stay and an luxury that wants me come back and enjoy the dinner again at this beautiful location

We were upgraded to a comfortabele room with sea view. Nice bathroom with shower. Good breakfast and a reserved parking space in front of the hotel. Location is in center of Rapallo: shops, restaurant, boulevard and beach all within minutes walking distance
