United StatesWalter, our host, was very friendly and funny and had many wonderful stories about the place. We came on foot on the Via di Fransesco, and he made sure that our dinner needs were met. He also baked fresh bread in the morning and served a healthy breakfast, great for walking. The views of the valley were absolutely stunning from our room and we felt truly relaxed and peaceful. The hike up the hill to reach Schioppo was worth the effort to see this picturesque village. Our room was clean and simple.

Everyone who attended me was incredibly nice and helpful. Even pouring me a glass of wine from the cafe bar which was closed when I arrived; much appreciated after a long two days of travel.

It's a beautiful little hill town with a nice central square, good cafés and restaurants, very limited shopping, and a truffle museum! Very up and down so visitors need to be prepared to walk a lot but the views from high up are worth it. There's a rafting/kayaking outfit on the river, and play park with zip wires and tree walks up in Valcasana which looks good, and a municipal swimming pool.
