The breakfast was perfect. The best we had in Europe hotels and we do travel a lot! Dinner was exceptional. We had dinner at the hotel the first night we arrived and we could not resist the taste, we took dinner every night during our stay. The staff at the reception, restaurant and all over were so helpful, friendly and good at their job. The rooms were very clean, free coffee, tea and snacks were offered. Toiletries, slippers, bathrobes, everything one needs was there. The location of the hotel was also wonderful, walking distance to everywhere and very close to the main train and water bus stations. In short, absolutely perfect.

We spent just two nights in Venice, but it felt incredibly rich and memorable. We explored almost the entire city purely on foot, wandering through narrow alleys and over countless bridges. Venice is the perfect walking city! During our walk we visited many of the famous sights including St. Mark’s Square (Piazza San Marco), Rialto Bridge, the Grand Canal and several beautiful churches scattered around the city. Each one had its own character—quiet, historic and absolutely stunning inside. Even without a strict plan, we kept stumbling onto hidden piazzas, charming courtyards and beautiful architecture. Along the way we enjoyed delicious local cuisine and of course plenty of gelato. The food everywhere felt fresh and authentic, and trying local dishes was definitely a highlight. What surprised us most was how much we could cover simply by walking—no boats or public transport needed. Venice truly feels like an open-air museum, and slowing down on foot lets you appreciate all the details and atmosphere. Venice is historic, romantic, and incredibly photogenic—a city best explored step by step!

One of the most impressive cities in Europe, the museums are simply breathtaking. The nature aspect is gorgeous, with bird-eye views towards the sea and the surrounding islands. The third point is its rich history, accurately documented and illustrated in the Palazzo Ducale, which I personally recommend. Also, you can walk everywhere, so you don't need to worry about boat rides. It's a small city and you can get free snippets by walking from the bus station. Beware: - The majority of the restaurants are tourist traps, which we had to learn the hard way(they can't cook a schnitzel& fries or simple pasta, which were also very overpriced at 22+ euro). We found a good way to spot them by checking the menu outside: if the pizza is over 13 euro, we avoided it! - There are not that many pubs to sit in for a drink. The ones advertised as such are crowded, very loud(for 17:00 PM) and smelly. The only 1-2 pubs which are decent will be reserved for locals. We were kicked out from a free 2-person table among other 5 empty tables, and then not even served or offered apologies(Rétro Wine Bar). So basically they forced us to leave by ourselves. Our third trip will be perfect, we're looking forward to it.

Venice is an enchanting destination, especially during the quieter months, such as late November or the second half of January, when the usual tourist crowds fade away. My recent trip to this magical city was particularly special, as I was honoured to receive the Poseidon - King of the Lagoon international prize for the arts, alongside 100 other talented artists. This prestigious award, celebrated at the Scuola Grande San Teodoro, in the Contemporary Celebrity Masters Book Volume 5 by Fondazione Effetto Arte, felt like a dream come true. The award ceremony resembled an Oscar night, where I was proud to be handpicked from among 100 finalists for my work in calligraphy, lettering, and typography. This discipline is experiencing a delightful resurgence in popularity, and I am thrilled to be part of such a dynamic and evolving art form!

Fantastic place, so different to anywhere else we have been.

Fantastic place, so different to anywhere else we have been. Loads to see and do, four days were not enough. We loved St Marks' square, the Doges Palace and other sights. It is a great city to just wander around and get lost, you will get lost but it's worth it. Don't bother with a pass for the water buses, just tap your debit card when you get on and off, they will work out the best fare at the end of your visit. Also no need to pre-book the attractions, you will get better deals at the venues themselves. A gondola ride is a must.

If you've never been to Venice it's wonderful and beautiful My favorites are to get on the back of a vaporetto and ride around looking at the wonderful views. Another must do is do both of the behind the scene tours of the Doge Palace and visit the outer islands. This was my 4th visit and I'm over it for the most part as it is overpriced and touristy but I'm a tourist too! Definitely go if you've never been but if you have, try out some other amazing cities nearby.

Loved Silvia, our host. She greeted us off the boat and walked us to the apartment that overlooked a charming, quiet square. The best nights sleep we had throughout our 10 day trip through Italy. Comfy bed and quite apartment block. Cleanliness 10/10, great bathroom. Location is perfect, right next to Rialto bridge and a fully central location to Venice, everything was walkable. Really good sized room, very big.
