Fantastic breakfast in food quantity and quality, we ate outside on the patio of the breakfast restaurant. A lot of warm dishes, a lot of choice and also finest French patisserie.

We used the bus coach to reach the city from the hotel, we also walked during the day through the pedestrian walk in the marvellous forest. To reach the entrance of the walk from the hotel, just follow the indication "Promenade" from the hotel: it is super easy: get out of the main entrance of the hotel, walk to the left, walk 100mt up to the kiosks selling tourist stuff, here follow indication "Promenade", it is other 70mt , and then take the path going down, it is not a road, it is very easy and very wide trail.

United KingdomHotel Noir is a lovely boutique hotel, very close to Kagoshima Station and inside a shopping mall. Make sure you take the exit towards the bus stands to locate it quickly. There are drinks machines just a couple of meters from the hotel and lots of restaurant choices. Staff were friendly, helpful and polite. Enjoyed the layout of the room and size of bed and the lighting features. I would be very happy to rebook this hotel again as it's easy to get to different locations from there.

Kagoshima black pork is really delicious and tender. Some restaurants may mix Kagoshima black pork with other pork in one dish. Choose the dish with Kagoshima blace pork alone. The more expensive price worth it.

Kagoshima is an undiscovered gem.
Kagoshima is an undiscovered gem. Most people probably don't go that far south in Kyushu if they go to Kyushu at all. However, one of the things that is good about it. It is not totally overrun with tourists. Perhaps I shouldn't be saying the nice things about it!

Though we did not have a chance to visit the viewdeck...
Though we did not have a chance to visit the viewdeck nearest to Sakurajima, it was still a satisfying visit. Sengan-en garden is a must visit place.
We also drove all the way to Sunmesse in Ninchinan and it was an enjoyable trip.

Kagoshima in winter - Feb - can be very cold. Food here is great and the Satsuma Japanese wonderful. Black is a lucky color in Kagoshima thus the my son's Rebnise basketball team wears black at home games. Taxis are always available at stations and it is not far from anywhere. A day trip to Ibuski's sand baths is recommended - on fine days. Plenty of public natural mineral water onsens are available. Shiroyama's has a fantastic view .The ferry ride and Rainbow Onsen on Sakurajima is great.

I Love this City it has a lot of character culture and history !!!! I enjoyed all of it the parks the train station the wide Avenues the Shimadzu crest everywhere the grams the Seaside the Sang-an all so beautiful i would always go back to Kagoshima and the food is EXCELLENT

Totally enjoyed it there.
Totally enjoyed it there. It's basically easy to get around and food options are plentiful. Try 'Shirokuma'- a specialty sweet there. I would recommend getting the various passes; they can cut down on your transportation costs. Select what you like and go, you won't be disappointed.

Perfect location, space, cleanliness and everything! 3rd time visiting Japan and this is the perfect experience ever. You can cook, watch Netflix and do laundry here, just like you live here as local people.
Take airport shuttle bus, local tracks and jr trains downstairs.
Shopping and dinning are super convenient around kagoshima chu-o (centre) station.
Decorations are neat both inside the room and within the whole apartment. I do feel their hospitality.

I often stay in Kagoshima so I've stayed in a number of mid-range hotels here. This one is my favourite in the city centre and I usually try to stay here if the price is in my budget. I appreciate the quirky and easy check-in experience. The rooms are quite spacious for Japan and always clean. Their toiletries are organic and smell great! And their sheets and covers are cotton. It's also handy to Tenmonkan but in walking distance to the station.

Hotel is very chic and modern, in a really handy shopping area around 1.5km from the central Kagoshima JR station. Tram stop and airport bus stop are 2min walk.
Room is comfortable, with modern shower (no bath). Nice quality toiletries supplied.
The massage chair was a nice extra!

This is probably the best hotel I have ever stayed at: incredible view of Sakurajima (well worth paying the extra for), kind staff, convenience store downstairs, main train station, bus terminal and tram stop just outside and airport bus just around the corner! Not to mention the bed was really comfortable and the bathroom was nice too
