United StatesEverything about this brand new Toyoko Kokura hotel was fabulous! Yes the beds are extra firm, but not bad. Yes it takes about 10 minutes to walk there from the station, but not bad. The staff, the big twin room, the incredible view, the great breakfast, were all amazing for the low price. This hotel sets a new standard for Toyoko Hotels!

Very recommended. We love Aso area a lot, mountains there are green like Macha and food/fruit are really delicious, for example: tomatoes or milk, pudding....etc.

This is a small town but perfect for conference or a few day...
This is a small town but perfect for conference or a few day escape from routine trip. Some attractions like shrines, few hiking trails and a railway museum are around. Finally Fukuoka is just 15 away by Shinkansen. And this town has its small but charming airport!

Kokura Castle in the evening during Cherry Blossom season...
Kokura Castle in the evening during Cherry Blossom season was magical. Kokura Zoo is great. Slot car racing at Hunaudieres in Aruaru City was fabulous! Kitakyūshū Peace Museum is not to be missed, everyone should be required to experience this incredible place. Same goes for the Kitakyūshū Museum of Natural History! Lunch at the Kitakyushu City Central Library Cafe was perfect for the price.

We visit Kitakyushu every year because we have family members living there. I love Kitakyushu because of how peaceful and less crowded it is and I know the place more than the other cities in Japan. Kitakyushu also has a lot of local tourist spots that can be reached if you rent a car or by bus/train.

We booked Daiwa Roynet because we like their hotels. This one is just as good as what we have experienced in other cities. Clean, comfortable, very helpful staff. We were initially put in a room right below the smoking floor. The cigarette smell was too strong. They immediately arranged for a lower floor room away from the smoke. Love that their bathrooms are big by Japanese standards. Rain shower is excellent. Coin operated washing machine and dryer is a plus.

The hotel located just next to Blue wing Mojiko bridge, so you can observe the opening bridge from hotel front. Staff can speak English. Room is nice and large space. City view room is also see port view and it's really nice. Car parking was paid 1100 yen/night. Breakfast is Japanese and western buffet, it's good taste, I especially recommended choccolate donut. In my opinion, the price of room+breakfast is very valuable.

The staff provided the only room they had that had a separate bath and shower because I am disabled. I appreciated their efforts to accommodate. The hotel only had one available larger room with separate shower so provided it at no extra charge. Great view of Kokura , the station and port area.
