We stayed here for the first two nights upon arriving in Sri Lanka and could not recommend it more. It was perfect for relaxing and recuperating after our long flight before heading off to explore more of the island. The hotel sent a complimentary chauffeur who was there to collect us at arrivals (and our flight was over an hour delayed!). From arrival, all the staff were incredibly hospitable and friendly. One of us has a severe allergy to coconut and peanuts and all the hotel staff were so accommodating and were even able to prepare traditional Sri Lankan food without any coconut. The room was spotless and spacious with excellent air conditioning and a very large bed for sleeping off the jet lag. The staff were also so helpful in organising transfers/activities/restaurant recommendations. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend to anyone visiting Sri Lanka.

Ideal location for last stay in Sri Lanka. Very near to airport - approx. 15min drive. Staff is super helpful and friendly. They made our last day informative and fun - thank you so much! One of those places where the Restaurant foods actually have reasonable pricing - not 3-4x the normal (Y)

We loved the location. Further form the dirty beach, in nice green quiet neighbourhood. Close to a train station, not far from the airport. The hosts are extremely pleasant and the hotel is worth a lot more than it is sold for. The food was good, the room was spacious (old aircon bit noisy). The best part of course was the pool. Clean, big and deep. Best pool I ever had in these hotels. I could have spent a day sunbathing and swimming. Great place,

Loved how spacious and clean the room and bathroom were. The garden and the pool were beautiful and well kept. The pool was clean and the staff were extremely kind and welcoming, they even offer great services. The room offers a beautiful view of the garden and has a private access to it. Nice dinner and breakfast as well

This place is perfection! From the warm welcome to our stunning suite to the food, the service - it does not get any better than this. The Uga Riva is at the same time a journey to the past and an expierience of contemporary luxury at its best. Be it the beautifully decorated rooms, the pool, the garden, the restaurant, everything was just perfect. The service was exceptional. All the staff are obviously highly trained professionals, and are kind and welcoming hosts. A true experience!

Mr Basil and Mr. Priya on arrival were very welcoming and friendly. Caring about how my fought had gone and making sure the check in process was quick and efficient. During my stay Mr. Basil was very conscious and attentive that my stay was good and comfortable. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for Mr. Basil and was always keen to help done with a smile and a kind word. I have to mention the food, both breakfast and dinner prepared by Mrs. Lathi. Both were of excellent quality and very delicious. I went for Sri Lankan breakfast which was a great choice. Tasty, plentiful and very well prepared. The first nights dinner was some of the best tasting food I have eaten in sometime. Mrs. Lathi’s dhal was out of this world. Thank you. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

I feel its overrated.

I feel its overrated. If someone needs a beach vibe in short distance from airport its fine but there is no strong night life. Food is overpriced.Seafood is way too expensive than Colombo also. As a local I feel Negombo is not par with south coast

Lots of interesting shops & some smart hotels, Plenty of choice of restaurants. Choose a hotel with a pool as beach very dirty Lots of tuk tuks so very easy to get into town & around resort

If you want a quiet holiday by the beach, close to the airport, close to colombo, then there is no better place than Negombo. One long street peppered with restraunts of all kinds, friendly people without exception. all within walking distance of the hotels.

Negombo is one of those places that has lovely beaches, the beach were the Sentido Heritance was located was very clean and beautiful but there were parts to Negombo were the beach did have rubbish. Negombo itself has plenty to offer from the fish markets boat tours, mangrove tours and the city. Other amazing places in Sri Lanka - Kandy, Tricomalee, Jaffna and Islands, Galle.

Negombo is the perfect place to stay on your first or last...

Negombo is the perfect place to stay on your first or last day of your trip in Sri Lanka. It's really close to the airport, it has a nice beach, and there are a lot of good hotels. There's no tourist attraction around, but there's a few good restaurants also.

A little gem of a guesthouse in Negombo area. I loved everything about it. The best place in terms value during my 3.5 weeks stay in Sri Lanka (I stayed in 7 places in total). The place is quiet and dreamy, its low-key feel gives you the needed rest after/before your flight. About 49 seconds from the beach. The Sea Joy Fish Curry place is seconds away too. I also very much appreciated our talks with the owner - a cosmopolite and well-travelled local gentleman. I'd definitely stay here again - should I be returning to Lanka.

Overall the stay was great. It was our first hotel after arriving in Sri Lanka and made for a good start of our vacation. The location was nice and a lot of nice places were within walking distance. The staff spoke English well and was very friendly. Breakfast and the restaurant here was phenomenal. The swimming pool was large enough for a large crowd and had a very nice view of both the ocean and city itself. The Negombo beach is not suitable for swimming and having a pool was great. We did not try out the spa.

I love the Sri Lankan breakfast - Dosa with side dish of dhal curry and dried coconut. I like that it s near Negombo beach and Periyamulla bus station is 17 mins walk away. However, some of the facilities like the plug is a little bit not fit. The place is just good for sleeping and not really for a staycation. There were refrigerators and water filter but I think it’s not working. So far, what’s best for me in this place is the location of the property which is near every restaurant and the beach.

This is a lovely home in Negombo. Open plan layout. Large rooms. Outdoor terrace and swimming pool. The hosts are lovely and welcoming. The accommodation is comfortable. And the breakfast was by far the best we had in Sri Lanka (the traditional curries). The curries in fact were the best that we had in general. The beach is nearby and the walk into Negombo town along it is pleasant. This is a perfect option for easy connection to the airport.

Lovely hostel to start or end your journey in Sri Lanka. The rooms are very clean and the host Asiri makes you feel very welcome. Right near the beach and centre of Negombo!
