United KingdomWonderful friendly hosts. Beautiful hotel in lovely quiet area. Even quieter my weekend there as maintenance meant the train closed down.
Room small but functional, spotlessly clean. Good robust shower.
May be a limited choice of evening meals but the 2 I had were delicious especially the steak. Breakfast was also very nice.
After 5 days of travelling from town to city to town those 2 peaceful days in a gorgeous setting where just the tonic

Lovely evening meal in the restaurant followed by a few craft beers in the bar.

Wilz. What a disappointment.
Wilz. What a disappointment. For such a large town in the Ardenne with all its great country trails and forests around, the town has little to offer except being a base to sleep. It feels very functional and food choices ae limited.
It's high spots are the chateau grounds and its Battle of Bulge museum, some other gardens and a memorial tower, but plan for less than 1/2 day. Sports facilities are a plus point too - not that you'll need extra fitness - streets are steep.
For one solid memory, head west out of town to the National liberation memorial at the Schumanns Eck crossroads. It recognises the allies liberation of the area in late 1944-45 through a 3km installation trail of 65 life-size silhouettes images of real US and German soldiers and civilians present during the Ardennes offensive. Go early and in eerie silence appreciate your freedom.

It's a good base for the area.
It's a good base for the area. The castle with the brewery, museum and Battle of the Bulge museum were interesting (1/2 a day max). Its worth climbing the tower for the view.
There's a enough bars & restaurants to offer variety for a few days.
We're not hikers, so no idea on that.

A pleasant little town - good for a relaxing weekend but don't expect too much in way of shops - castle and museum is nice as it the Parc de Wiltz. The restaurant at the hotel is great and we were able to sit in the garden, good food and wine choices.. great service.

Nice little cottage near Wiltz that has everything you need for a weekend getaway for 2. In the area you can walk different beautiful trails and enjoy nature. We were there in December and the owners even setup a Christmas tree to make it feel extra cosy. Definitely recommended!

The hotel room was quite large and comfortable. The hotel is easy to reach by bus; you need to stop at Wiltz Lann Quai. The breakfast was good and the staff were helpful. The swimming pool is a nice way to relax and can be booked for 40 minutes.
