Lucia and the other people serving our food as well. I really recommend the hotel at least one time because it’s truly an experience, especially coming with your loved one.

One of the highlights of our experience was the opportunity to explore the resort on bikes. The Hacienda's expansive grounds include two serene lakes, providing everything you need for a relaxing getaway in nature. Our days were filled with swimming in the cenote in the crisp morning air, paddling in the tranquil lake waters in the afternoon, and cave exploration—all in a single day!
Our jungle and cave tour, guided by Gonzola, was an absolute standout. Gonzola's passion and knowledge about the jungle and its diverse ecosystem were truly inspiring.
As for dining, the chef at the resort's restaurant is undoubtedly one of the best. Each dinner was a culinary delight, featuring an array of rich and delicious tacos and ceviches that left our taste buds dancing with joy. One delightful aspect we appreciated was that no matter where you ventured on the property, there was always a welcoming presence of clean towels and refreshing water or coffee stations—small touches that made us feel truly pampered.
We spent three unforgettable days at this haven, and every day held new adventures to explore. We never grew tired of it.

JordanEverything was amazing, the vibe of the place, the people, the quality of everything they use. Fernando and Rosi were amazing, helpful and very sweet. I felt so comfortable and enjoyed my stay. If I ever go back to Tulum I would def stay here again.

If you are lucky, you would get to join one of the dinner parties, food was full of flavor, high quality and very rich.

Nobody tells you about the toxic tap water which is contaminated with sea water and definately not fit to drink. Hotels apparently don't seem to care in not providing water treatment and do not supply bottled waterunless paid for. Some really good affordable restaurants in town. It is rather a dirty, rubbish strewn town and is more expensive for everything than say Puerto Vallata and other popular coastal locations. Both the airport and train station are brand new but lacking a lot of facilities. We will be returning to Mexico again but not Tulum, most disapointing.

Tulum is undeniably beautiful.
What I liked
Tulum is undeniably beautiful. The color of the sea, the beaches, the jungle and the cenotes are stunning, and many places have a very cool design and atmosphere. It really feels like a unique destination in terms of nature and scenery, and it can be a great place to disconnect if you just focus on the surroundings.
What I didn’t like
For the overall experience, Tulum is extremely overpriced and the level of service does not match what you pay. From the moment you arrive, the airport is chaotic and stressful, and renting a car feels like a trap, with hidden insurance charges and constant upselling. In general, everything is slow, basic requests often go unanswered, and the standard of customer service in many places is far below what you would expect in a major tourist destination. Xcaret, for example, charges Disney-level prices but doesn’t come anywhere close in terms of service, organization or quality. You constantly have the feeling that tourists are there to be overcharged rather than taken care of. Considering the prices, the whole experience is just not worth it.

I love Tulum and its people.
I love Tulum and its people. Staying in the Centro and walking around, exploring, meeting locals, eating all the delicious food options! A perfect mix of beach, city and jungle vibes. I find it to be a fun destination with kids. There's alot to do and visit and the transport to various interesting site is easy.

If you spend a week and visit all zones plus Zama and LaVeleta you will appreciate the different vibes of Tulum. It took me 3 separate visits to see all of this. I need a 4th visit to see Aldea Zama.

WAY to expensive. the 'public' beach will not allow food, plastic or beers on the beach so theres that. everything is built like crap and basically just meant for instagram. it wasnt what it used to be- i was there in 2019. I wont be going back, there are sooo many more places in mexico that i have been that are much much much better.

The centre of Tulum has a lovely vibe, with one great vegetarian restaurant (la Hoja Verde) and reasonably priced ahopping.
The public beaches are nice and a good place to spot iguanas, but are a hassle to get to and are closed at 5pm!
Taxis are overpriced.

The hotel was pretty and accessible to the beach/town by bike. It has big supermarkets nearby. Breakfast was a bit pricy and the area where to eat was small so there was a queue in the morning. Facilities are nice. The drinks at the bar are very expensive. Room smelled a bit moldy but maybe that is common in Mexico. It was clean and quiet. Beds were too soft.
