FranceThe hotel is well situated, 5 minutes walk from the town centre. There is a parking just behind the hotel, the fees are very reasonable (14 euros for 24h) . It is very convenient. The hotel is very pleasant, with a little shop at the entrance where you can buy, coffee/tea, drinks, knacks and breakfast in the morning. In the morning, you have fresh pastries, fancy yogurts and plenty nice things! You just pay for what you take!
The staff was very helpful and so nice!
The room was simple but very well decorated, very clean and had everything we needed. Everything was PERFECT!

It is on walking distance from the centre(about 15minutes) nothing negative i can think of!

Bigger than I originally thought it would be. Road works in town and may have incurred a ticket as I drove down a road with a camera en route to the Walrus restaurant. Unable to read Dutch signs until they were pointed out by a Dutch friend. Very warm and helpful people.

A unique town to visit.
A unique town to visit. A beautiful town centre with many restaurants and bars to choose from. Many historic buildings to view and admire. I visited the nearby Koninkje Luchtmacht vliegbasis where a major NATO exercise was taking place.

We enjoyed Leeuwarden for the 2 days we were there, a delightful small town with a mixture of old and modern.
We particularly enjoyed the canal trip - do the longer 1.5 hour one; it's only 8 Euro.
Of course we did the Fries and ceramics museums, a little disappointing as although everything was very well presented, they make the most of what they have, there weren't that many exhibits. It didn't cater very well to non Dutch speakers I thought.
We didn't go up the wonky tower as it was a very hot day and we were tired, interesting to look at though.
If you enjoy meat go to Loetjes restaurant next to the hotel, excellent !
Watch out for bicycles everywhere, they seem to have priority in Netherlands. FYI it is illegal to drink alcohol in public places.

I didn't know what to expect but picked Leeuwarden as a...
I didn't know what to expect but picked Leeuwarden as a central spot for exploring Friesland. It is a beautiful town that is the perfect size to get around easily. There was so much more to do here than I expected and could easily have stayed for a week or more without getting bored. It was easy to walk to great museums, restaurants and shopping.
My children highly recommended the Nature Museum which was very interactive and good for children of all ages and adults too.
We enjoyed shopping in the Blokhuispoort and taking to the artisans about their sustainability story.
We stayed at the Post Plaza Hotel and highly recommend it.
Next time, I will go in spring/summer/fall and rent a bike to explore even more. Very bike friendly city.

The city is a perfect example of how to combine the old with the new. The architecture is very nice to observe, the people are friendly, there's a lot going on on the streets so it's never boring and there are also a lot of quiet places by the canals where you can get a moment of rest. There are not a lot of things that would be specifically aimed at tourists which adds a very nice wibe as you get the sense that the atmosphere is very genuine.

Friesland is a beautiful area of the Netherlands.
Friesland is a beautiful area of the Netherlands. Leeuwarden itself is a busy tourist town with lots of things to see and lots of shops and restaurants. Like many of the surrounding villages (for example Franeker) it is full of old, historic buildings. The sea is not far away and you should definitely try a guided mud walk (wadlopen) when the tide is out.
A few kilometers to the south of Leeuwarden you will find De Alde Feanen National Park. Rent a bike in Grou and cycle along one of the many marked cycle routes.

I stayed for a week and I really liked that there were good shelves, storage spaces, and surface areas for putting things. My room didn't have a lot of natural light but the artificial lighting was really great - as well as various small area lights there was a big central ceiling light with a dimmer switch so you could have it any degree of brightness you wanted. Most hotels don't have this.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The service was truly exceptional — the gentleman at the front desk was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and went out of his way to be helpful. The room was spotless, very comfortable, and had everything I needed for a relaxing stay. I would definitely come back and highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area!

The hotel as such is fine. Rooms are good sized, with well-thought-out design, aircon worked fine, location is good with several restaurants close by and easy walking distance to the old town. We had rooms towards the street, but it was surprisingly quiet. Bicycles were safely parked in the basement.
