A lovely hotel run by very caring and attentive staff who really couldn't do enough for you. The location is great, just a short walk to the sea front with plenty of restaurants and other attractions.
The Strandhotel is a small family hotel directly facing the beach. The cosy dining room with sea view is a wonderful way to start your day with a nice breakfast.

We liked walking along the beach boardwalk, walking around town, and we did a few tram trips away such as den Hague and Leiden for the Naturalis centre. We walked along the pier and that was sort of interesting; we didn't ride the ferris wheel. Getting around town is easy walking or tram. We had one meal at an Indian restaurant that was not so good. Otherwise, we had groceries and ate in our room. I wouldn't suggest Oct. as it is not beach weather but for sure less tourists.

We loved every moment staying on The Pier.
We loved every moment staying on The Pier. The view was fantastic, the room was clean and comfortable and we loved the special touches such as wine and chocolats wating for us every day, breakfast included and the staff were extremely helpful. The Boulevarde was long and exciting with lots of cafes and eateries. and the tram was available behind the Kurhaus and it was easy to travel to the Hague and back. We loved it and recommend that everyone should stay there at least once.

Scheveningen or Den Haag is a insider tip for people, who want to travel to the Netherlands. It is less crowded then Amsterdam, but just as interesting. The royal family of the Netherlands has their palace there, so you can feel some royal spirit in the city center. Also the National Parlarment, Europol and the International Court of Justice are located in Den Haag.

Gorgeous sunsets and you can walk for miles along the beach.
Gorgeous sunsets and you can walk for miles along the beach. The water was warm and there was plenty of room to find a quiet spot. All of the restaurants had delicious food and a wide variety of menu and seating options. The town is lovely and it is very easy to get around. Just a short tram ride to Den Haag which is a beautiful city in and of itself.

The town itself is busy but somewhat spread out.
The town itself is busy but somewhat spread out. There are three main areas - the new area where most of the hotels and restaurants are, the old area including the shopping street of Keizerstraat which is handy for almost everything, including a wide choice of restaurants, and the harbour. All three are linked to the city centre of Den Haag by three tram routes - 1 and 9 from the new area, 1 from Keizerstraat and 11 from the harbour area at the other end of Keizerstraat. Between Scheveningen and Den Haag lie the Scheveningse Bosjes, an attractive wooded area perfect for country strolls. Nearby attractions include the International Court of Justice (Vredespaleis) (there is an interesting visitor centre but to visit the Court itself you have to book well in advance) reachable by tram 1, and the model village of Madurodam reachable by tram 9.

I would recommend the Foodhall complex that is excellent, also if you travel in family we don't always want the same food at the same time, this place is perfect for that.
Legoland, on the way to the harbour you will find a Legoland
Super easy to take the tram and go to The Hague (15 min approx) the tram is at 3 min walk from hotel. Or you can trip to Delft also
Next time I will try another hotel, I loved this hotel about 10 yrs ago, but the maintenance is not there and for the price, I find it sad. So we will try other hotels around
You have a cinema not too far, so one morning it rained a bit we went to see a movie, this is also nice !
The hotel is in a centralized location, walking proximity to EVERYTHING! So for people traveling with a family, there's plenty of things to do nearby: Movie theater, plenty of restaurants to choose from, bowling, shopping, a small aquarium for kids 10 years or younger, parks, boardwalk, ferris wheels, oh... and did I mention a large sandy beach?!
If you want to get out of the seaside, you can catch a tram that is walking distance from the hotel to Den Haag (The Hague) city center for even more shopping or just sight seeing.
Very friendly staff.
Very close to the beach.
Supermarket, cash mashine and any shop you need close.
Great TV channels, to be precise better TV channels than most 3 and 4 star hotels in the Netherlands.
The rooms are extremely clean.
It's a great place if you just need a room to sleep and are outside all day or maybe a few hours there to watch TV and eat.
If you want a own toilet and bathroom you need to pay a bit more... and then it's the best price here in Scheveringen, The Hague.
Great location, easy to find, shops and restaurants nearby. Also a short walk to the beach. Very friendly welcome, and an incredible breakfast delivered to our room! Everything was clean and comfortable, our room was very light and airy. Would definitely stay here again. You need to pay extra for parking, but we were happy with that because of the great location and value for money.
We have stayed at The Strand multiple times over the years and have always loved the room we received. As usual, we got a room with a view of the sea and and pier. The room was a good size that included a couch. The breakfast room is really nice with a great view no matter where you sit. Breakfast options are plentiful and the cappuccino machine is bonus.
Lovely hotel a few steps from the sea. I had a great room with a nice balcony with panoramic views over The Hague. The staff were particularly friendly and helpful. Very easy access to public transport and plenty of good places to eat within walking distance. For the price, I thought it was exceptional.
I loved everything about the hotel, from the lovely staff, to the fact that they kindly upgraded me from a single room to a double room with balcony, that they accommodated my request for a quiet room, to the location (quieter end of Scheveningen beach), to the amazing breakfast!
The hotel is located less than five minutes from the beach and boulevard, without being in a crowded area. Access by car is good, and the hotel has its own parking space.
The room was good for its purpose. There was even a mini-kitchen with microwave, though we did not use it.
I like the room, the facilities. Everything for the room.
The location is great. Easy to get the public transportation. Near the beach, cinema, supermarket, mall, etc. Well, at least for me, who is rarely walking, the distance is quite manageable.
check in Key by mobile phone is great.
communication with the hotel owner is good
the location is great . it is near the beach and to the city center >
a bus station and tram station are close . less than 200 m
Super charming old hotel perfectly located with a view of the beach and the broadwalk. The hotel is family-run and the staff are friendly and willing to tell the story about the hotel that goes back about 100 years
Good location, especially for somebody interested in the beach but also smooth public transport to the downtown (tram and bust stop next to the hotel). VERY helpful staff! Definitely worth recommending!
A quiet hotel by the sea. The breakfast is served in a room overlooking the Scheveningen beach - a great start of a day. The rooms had all the necessary amenities. The staff were kind and friendly.
We loved that we had a fridge in our room! not many hotels offer this in Europe, so it was handy.
Easy access through the back of the hotel to the boardwalk and beach behind the hotel.
The location. Situated in a nice shopping street with all amenities, tram stop nearby and Scheveningen beach a few steps away. The apartment was new and the beds were very comfortable.
Loved that it was in front of the sea about 10 minutes walk to the Kurhaus. Had a clean room and bathroom also very good and comfortable bed. Covers the basics.
