A Volcanic Land of Wonders
Rotorua is living proof of the magnificent, and sometimes mind-boggling, might of nature. Smoking hot springs, bubbling mud pools and fast-spouting geysers give the surrounding landscape an almost other-worldly feel.
This New Zealand city sits in the Waimangu Volcanic Valley, the world’s newest geothermal hotspot. It was created after the 1886 eruption that covered Te Wairoa Buried Village, between 2 of many lakes gracing this fertile terrain. By Lake Rotorua’s shores is the luxurious Polynesian Spa with its thermal pools. Just behind in Government Gardens are the city’s best cultural offerings: the Arts Village, Tamaki Maori Village and Rotorua Museum, in an elegant former bath house.
Native animals roam in Rainbow Springs Kiwi Wildlife Park below Mount Ngongotaha, accessible via the Skyline cable car. The views while ascending make it obvious why this is called the Bay of Plenty. Tikitere Thermal Park on the opposite side of the lake is known as Hell’s Gate, but as long as you can ignore the sulphuric smell, the spas are simply heavenly.
More springs are in Whakarewarewa Thermal Reserve, whose surrounding forest is popular for mountain biking, and Wai-O-Tapu where the Champagne Pool is a striking mix of green and orange.

Cobb n co is also a go too for us with there robots waitress .
Mini Golf, gondula luge rides, paradise valley, lakefront, lady jane ice cream shop , the blue and green lakes, polyneisian pools so so much to see and do.

It is a nice small place, friendly people.
It is a nice small place, friendly people. Only problem was the limited car parking spaces at the popular eating and socialising area that is Eat Streat. Otherwise, it is nice and refreshing for people like us coming from the big smoke that is Auckland. Overall, enjoyed our stay.

The house is so comfortable and the owner so helpful.
The house is so comfortable and the owner so helpful. Each of the 3 bedrooms has a private bathroom. The kitchen is well stocked, the washer & dryer giant size, and the courtyard has outdoor seating and a jacuzzi! We could have stayed for days as the area has so much to see and lots of fun restaurants with yummy food.

Te Puia is well worth visiting for the natural Geysers and the tour of the education centre/College as well as very tasty Hāngī/buffet we had as part of the tour.
Worth going round Waitapu thermal Park to see the hot mud pools, a great walk around them to view the different colour pools.
and a visit to Waitomo glow worm Caves. these are fascinating and beautiful.

Hell's gate geothermal pools was fascinating. Mud bath and spa pools gave us unique experience. Worth a try. It was very crowded but staff managed everyone well.
Matai Maori experience including Maori singing and dancing was very good. Got to know more of Maori culture and food prepared in Hangi.

I have stayed in this accommodation and it is safe to say that this is by far the best value for money you can find in Rotorua! I have stayed in numerous hotels and accommodations and this is the best option I have found ! Especially for the money you pay ! It is central to the town, and it provides everything you need whether you are staying for a short period of time or a long period of time ! Highly recommended! 👍👍👍👍👍

Hotel staff were really friendly and helpful online and in person, especially the hotel cat that roams around the facility doing his security checks. rooms exceeded expectations, beds and pillows were comfy, plenty of space for a big family and everything was clean. If you plan on staying awhile in rotorua I recommend this place, Hotels close to all the fun things to do in town I will definitely be staying here again.

Great size room, nice and quiet with double glazing ( unlike a number of older Hotels on Fenton Street which can all be quite noisy )
Also location superb as right next to Eat Street and Lake.
You can also use the Gym and Pool at the Novotel which was added bonus.
