The location was excellent, the breakfast was one of the best we had in Peru, the room was clean, cozy and very spacious and the bed was very comfortable. but above all - the hospitality of the hotel manager and the entire staff was extraordinary. The team went out of their way to help us - with excellent recommendations about the town and Machu Picchu, answering our many questions, and even offering escorts to places in the town. We expected very little from such a touristic town, and left with a wonderful experience of friendly and warm hospitality. The hotel also provides a lunchbox for an additional price if requested - recommended.

Great small town on the way to Machu Picchu.
Great small town on the way to Machu Picchu. Plenty of hotels for every taste and budget. You could try to buy 1000 tickets to Machu Pichu from local Ministry of Culture. Every day they are selling 1000 extra tickets for next day. Whenever you arriving it's always good to check as Ministry is open until 22.00. Also you need to be in the cue 6.00 or earlier when you want to be sure for tickets.

We stayed two nights in Aguas Calientes. I wish I had stayed a door or two longer as the town is small but really lively and fun to be in.
Also, we took a panoramic train from Cusco to Aguas Calientes and its definitely worth the experience.

If you can, see Machu Picchu early in the morn or in the...
If you can, see Machu Picchu early in the morn or in the late afternoon for best pics and fewest crowds. Take the bus up to Machu Picchu and then walk the stairs down to Aguas Calientes if you have 2 hours for the trek and strong knees/ankles to manage the stairs. Don't let travel agencies rush you from Cusco/Sacred Valley to Machu Picchu and back to Cusco in one day. Definitely spend the night in Aguas Calientes before or after your visit to Machu Picchu. The town has a lot of character and tremendous beauty. Lots of choices for dining, shopping and spas/massages. We wish we had stayed 2 days!

Started early and arrived machu picchu at 6:30am.
Started early and arrived machu picchu at 6:30am. Our guide Peter knew where to go to position ourselves to having nice photos. We were super fortunate that the fog came and went and didnt linger long. Suggest not to go late cuz by the time we finished which was after 3.5hrs there were so much people already. Take the Circuit 2 route if you have time. Its definitely worth it.

Machu Picchu itself was breathtaking.
Machu Picchu itself was breathtaking. It was very cloudy to start but eventually lifted for spectacular views. The process to get a ticket if you arrive without one is the worst. The information from the Ministry of Culture releases one thousand extra tickets a day and is very unclear about the process. I had to spend two nights instead of one and received no credit or refund on my train tickets which had to be changed.

We immediately felt welcomed by the staff. The girl at the reception (I am so sorry I couldn't remember her name, as I have a terrible memory for names) showed us around town, walked us to where we could find our bus tickets, and then to the bus stops, just so that we can be comfortable when we want to go to the Machu Picchu. She was really nice. The town was cute too, extremely touristy so my guess is that people probably go there mainly for the MP. The location was great as Aguas Calientes is very tiny so everything is near everything!

Great affordable option in Aguas Calientes with Wonderful breakfast and friendly staff. Walking distance to all the action but is quiet at night for a restful sleep. I reccomend staying in Aguas Calientes town for a few days, as there is plenty to do besides Macchu Pichhu, great affordable food. Its a charming jungle town and this is the best hotel to stay in.

The hotel is in an excellent location, right next to the bus station to Machu Picchu and the Aqua Caliente train station. The atmosphere is very friendly and they gave us all the support we needed, tea, wireless connection, and phone charging after check-out, after visiting Machu Picchu, and until our departure by PeruRail Train.
