Also within an hour drive you'll find nice mountainside places worth to visit - trekking is definitely great in the area

If you want to go hiking in the mountains and see a lot of nature, just right. You can do everything by car even when you are running. Because of the narrow streets, you shouldn't be on the road with a big car.

Gerês is a beautiful National Park.
Gerês is a beautiful National Park. Impressive nature, with plenty of hiking trails that are very diverse in nature, from the arid mountaintops to the waterfalls along the several streams that flow through the park. Culturally, Gerês also has a lot to offer.

It's boring and overcrowded.
It's boring and overcrowded. The small river beaches are full of people, there are only couple small supermarkets. We tried two pizza place and the pizza was bad in both of them. The termas park is very small and it took 1,5 hours to explore it.
I think this place is overestimated if only you are not a fan of balneotherapy.

Gerês is one of my favorite places to visit in the north of...
Gerês is one of my favorite places to visit in the north of Portugal. No matter how many times I visit, I will always be amazed by the waterfalls, and crystal clear water lakes in this rocky mountain. There's just so many things to visit and do that I always feel like coming back to this escape in nature.

A good place to spend your vacation in Geres, very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is located in a fairly remote area, but the center is only a 10-minute walk away. We had a room with a great view of the river and mountains. An added bonus - sometimes a cute and very friendly Labrador came out to say hello on the terrace:)

The staff are honestly so excellent. Very kind & helpful. The spa facilities were exactly what we needed and it being 10e per person was so brilliant of the hotel to keep prices accessible, that kind of thing does not go unnoticed and we will be recommending the hotel to friends & family. The breakfast was also lovely.

Very spacious and comfortable apartment. The view from the balcony was lovely. The bed was firm and big, just how we prefer them. The apartment was spotlessly clean and the we were able to prepare food very easily with a very well stocked kitchen. It is a short, but easy walk to the main centre of Geres.

Clean, comfortable and excellent value for money. Family owned and run, and it shows in the customer service i received. Great location close to main street, and half the price of the hotels next door. Would recommend to anyone travelling to Gerês

The location is just perfect for a getaway. Surrounded by nature, and with the hotel’s atmosphere, it all becomes very appealing. Staff is very attentive and friendly. Everything is tidy and clean. I recommend it 100%.
