I had a wonderful experience at this hotel. The comfort level was outstanding, with a clean and well-maintained room that made me feel right at home. I wanted to visit this hotel ever since I saw it on Design Hotels and on Instagram, so I booked a specific room and we traveled from Lisbon for it. Check-in was seamless and even though the room I wanted wasn’t available at first, the staff were very professional, patient and polite. They showed me the room and even offered to have it cleaned quickly so we could take it. However, another equivalent mirror room turned out to be one I liked even more, so we stayed with the initially allocated room. Excellent service from breakfast to dinner in their restaurant. I had expected less because I saw some feedback on Booking about portion sizes, but everything exceeded expectations: food was great, portions were not small at all and again the staff were very helpful, attentive and caring without ever being intrusive. We didn’t try the spa or the swimming pool, but those also looked great. The fireplaces throughout the hotel have a cozy, wooden smell. Breakfast had a great selection, including a separate à-la-carte menu. I especially liked the baked apples with cinnamon. And of course, the room I booked was beautifully designed, exactly what I hoped to see, with a very comfortable bed, crisp bedsheets, a balcony view, concrete walls and a glass wall. The weather was quite cold and the staff immediately turned the heater up, even brought an additional one without hesitation. To conclude, the only regret is that we didn’t stay longer because we had a flight back. I will definitely return if I’m in the area again. Thank you for your service.

This hotel is one which has been recently built or renovated next door to a restaurant and the tourist information centre on the way into the centre on a split level site. Our room was located downstairs from the main entrance and was located away from the main road with a view of the valley. There was free parking adjacent to the property. Breakfast was a good continental buffet which included a number of local cheeses, server three floors down in a room with a view of the lower valley. There was a selection of restaurants at various price points within a short distance of the hotel in addition to the more up market one next door (we tried The central for cheaper local food). The tourist information centre next door is worth a visit to get free walking route maps (using the European coloured flash way markers) in various languages distributed by a very helpful gentleman. There are a couple of supermarkets and bakery for picnic food.

Stayed with friends riding through Spain, Portugal and France on our motorbikes. Very pleasant overnight stay. Splendid rural location, clean and tidy rooms, friendly and engaging staff, cold beer and decent food too, from a buffet.. would happily return and recommend.

The breakfast is amazing! The staff was very friendly and the area is amazing, the nature and also the people. The guide to the walking tours int he room is a great source of information. We also enjoyed the reading room and tghe snacks available. A perfect escape to reconnect with nature. Highly recommended!

The hotel is easy to find, and within an easy walk of the town centre and local restaurants. The room was spotlessly clean and the beds had immaculate white cotton sheets. We were there for the start of the cold weather and the rooms were warm and plenty of hot water in the bathrooms. Breakfast was fantastic, lots of coffee, home made jams, local cheeses and cereals, just what you need before a good walk in the mountains.
