The apartments are located in the mountains, where silence, quality rest, and fresh air will await you.

The host is amazing, so nice, everything was perfect in place, clean and they offered some welcome cookies. The house is really comfortable and well prepared, specially for the 2 kids we had with us.

Santana is a perfect location to explore the north coast.
Santana is a perfect location to explore the north coast. Not far away from airport and capital, but still on the north. Two hiking starting points are nearby: Queimadas and Achada do Teixeira.
Santana also has an only large supermarket on the whole north coast, so you can buy delicious food right there. No such option in Porto Moniz or Seixal.

Cute little town. The uniquely Madeiran thatched houses are worth a look. There is one nice gentleman who invites people to see inside a home that has been in his family for 100+ years. It's a small window into what life was like before all the tourism. Also, he's very kind and will offer you a coffee liqueur on arrival. A donation is generally appreciated at the end.
Most importantly, he has adorable cats that hang out at the house, and one of the cats literally guided me up the path to his house. :)

Depends on each individual expectations, this is not a noise place with nitclubs, but it is very good for relaxation, countryside but wonderful, people are going earlier to bed and is so peaceful, you can find diferit restaurant on the village with a lot of options, I highly recommend it if you like the tranquility and nature

The hotel is very pleasant. It is good to be together with nature and with beautiful views over the sea and mountains. However, check-in took a long time, we waited 1 hour and a half for them to prepare the room, and when we got to the room, there were no pool towels, we had to ask at reception. Another situation that I didn't like was the booking of the wine tasting and visit to wine house. We were refused the wine tasting because we had already checked out at 12:00h. So we asked if we could do it before check out and they said yes, but we got there and nobody showed up.

Don't stay in Santana longer than 4 days and make sure you have a rental car to get to all the levadas easily. The restaurants/cafes in Santana are not that good/nice. The only tourist attraction in Santana are the famous Santana houses and the nearby hiking area Queimadas.

Comfortable, spacious room with modern, clean bathroom.
Views from the garden, the restaurant and the terrace of our room were bautiful beyond description.
Like many places on the island, access to this hotel is a bit of an adventure.
Breakfast choice and quality is good, staff are friendly and helpful.
The hotel restaurant, apart from the uncomfortable chairs on the terrace, is of a high standard and is relatively expensive.

Hotel is great! Location is very good, close to everything. Room is large, clean and fresh, with beautiful view of city. Pool and jacuzzi open always and it was a perfect way to relax after hiking. Breakfast is also very nice, a lot of variety and very tasty. We enjoyed our stay!

Big well equipped (shared) kitchen, nice chill out area. Friendly atmosphere. The green area there looks nice, unfortunately we didn't have time to explore more. There is a very big supermarket close-by (by car) in Santana.

Nice cottage in garden setting. Breakfast was very good en staff attentive. Beds are fine and all was clean. Santana itself is a good base for exploring the region, but it is a very sleepy town.
