Asian food restaurant was unique, the breakfast was fantastic. Great location for Sintra and Cascais. Very pet friendly, my dog loved his tipi. I sincerely recommend this quiet and beautiful place.

All three of the main sights are quite spectacular (Pena, Quinta Regaleira, Moorish castle). We went in October so the crowds were not too bad. That is the only downside I think is that in the summer it may be incredibly crowded as it is so close to Lisbon and there are so many day tours from there. The Pena palace has extensive beautiful grounds so if you like walking, you can escape the crowds. There are other places to hike and other nearby sights like Monserrate Palace that I would have liked to explore that we did not have time for. We stayed 2.5 days.

We spent about three days in Sintra, and found it very interesting and worthwhile. There was a large number of excellent restaurants, and the castle was worth having a look.
The shopping area boasted of many interesting shops with local or Portuguse-made goods.

Sintra is must to see in Portugal. Absolutely magical place. If you can, target min 3 nights stay, easily have enough to do for 4 nights. There are a lot of castles and museums. We stayed for two nights and only managed to see three castles: Pena, Quinta da Regaleira and National Palace. I recommend all three. City is on very steep hills, so plan to ware comfortable shoes.

Seeing the main castle from the outside only was made very difficult because of standing in line to get access to a required garden and then standing in line for a bus thereto in order to pay for these services. Pure drudgery!

We stayed for one day, so we only visited Pena Palace and the historic town. If you want to visit more of the castles, I would suggest staying for 2 days to have enough time to explore! Also, make sure to allow yourself enough time to get to the top of the mountain where the entrance to Pena Palace is, and get there in time for your time slot. It was a longer drive up (winding road) than we expected (by Uber), and it was packed with buses, tourists, tuktuk's and taxis... even at the end of October! We had dinner at Café Paris and enjoyed our food!

If you're reasonably fit and you get good weather, don't miss the walk up to the Moorish Castle and then on to the Pena Palace; though you need to book the latter and there are many many people there.
The National Palace in Sintra is also good.

This place is amazing, if you want to experience genuine Portugal magic, stay here. In the bedrooms, you open the windows and let the beautiful Sintra breeze flow through, downstairs you can open the sliding doors and sit in the lounge room enjoying the pool view or sit in the beautiful courtyard to enjoy an afternoon beverage. We stayed 3 nights and wish we had booked longer as its location is fantastic to see all Sintra has to offer and still close enough to travel to other areas in Lisbon etc.

We had an upgrade to a top floor room. The view from one window looked towards the Atlantic Ocean, the other window up towards a 7th Century Moorish castle. Location is great, just 200 metres from the railway station and a shortish walk from the historic centre. Breakfast should be 11 out of 10, little dishes individually presented. Staff are very nice and make you feel at home. One of the best (and nicest) hotels we have stayed in.

Very nice boutique hotel, small but comfy. Amazing location to visit Sintra, very good breakfast and all the tasty snacks left in the afternoon. Special mention to the Porto wine. The position is out of the historical center, but this allows you to find parking in the nearby streets.
