Tara Park is fantastic, the road leading to the lakes are pretty good but many turns, the cabin is situated in a very beautiful place and equipped with anything you need, spacious bathroom, equipped kitchen and living, terrace outside looking at the valley, we had a very good night sleep in the fresh mountain air. It is a bit far out of the way but the trip up and down the mountain is worth it.

Mitrovac is a small place , we can say heart of the Tara...

Mitrovac is a small place , we can say heart of the Tara mountain. It good location for start point for hiking trails to one of the best view point in Serbia - Banjska Stena ( 9 and 9a Trail). Also you can choose trail to Zboriste one of the top point of The Tara. Also is close to the Oslusa and Sokolina where you can find nice view points. Lake Zaovine is also near Mitrovac just ahead from the Mitorvac. Nic place also for mountain biking. For family Mitrovac gives quiet place and nice field for kids game, few education trails.

The heart of Tara National Park.

The heart of Tara National Park. Incredible views and a relaxed mountain village atmosphere. Banjska Stena (about 6 km from Mitrovac) is a place with an incredible view that has left a permanent mark on my heart.

We are nature lovers, so we are completely satisfied.

We are nature lovers, so we are completely satisfied. We didn't get to tour the entire area around Mitrovec, so that remains for the next visit. We found our way to the destination easily. The only thing that doesn't suit us is the pontoon beach on Lake Perucac.

This isn't a city.

This isn't a city. It's a small village with hiking trails leading up to the mountains. There are shops (only basic groceries, only frozen meat). Restaurants (no foie gras, for example) serve fried meat and tomato salad. Nothing fancy, but delicious.

Mitrovac is a base for exploring many of the scenic spots in Tara National Park. There's also a tourist information office, a grocery store, and at least two places to eat. The road to Mitrovac is winding and quite long, but the views are spectacular.

Beautiful nature.

Beautiful nature. Plenty of marked paths for walking and cycling. Viewpoints to remember. There is no asphalt road to most of the surrounding settlements. In the center of Mitrovec there are several restaurants, cafes, markets and one store. There are too few organized parking spaces during holidays and weekends, which can be a problem.
