United StatesEverything! The hotel had a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were friendly and helpful—especially the lovely Mrs. Zainab, who truly saved my trip at the last minute. She was a beautiful spirit and a wonderful presence at the hotel, along with her amazing team.
The food was delicious with plenty of variety, and the pool area was very relaxing. The location is perfect—right by the beach and close to the city. My room was clean and comfortable. I enjoyed a quick look at the city and the amazing views of the sea and swimming pool. Everything was spotless and well worth it. The entertainment was also a great bonus. I really enjoyed my stay.

We had previously had a bad experience at different hotel and the staff (Mme Rym at reception) were really sympathetic and made our stay extra special! We loved the tennis courts and the grounds and the food! Ramsey the chef de salle was amazing… as was Mlle Rym and M Slim at the reception (sorry for errors with the names)… We did not have such a friendly and helpful service at our following hotel and I have to say that it makes all the difference ! We hope to come back with our children next time.

The level of rubbish, care-worn facilities, unkempt beaches made for a very disappointing vacation.
Very little information or promotion of the heritage/antiquities at carthage, Bardo museum or in the medinas.
The traditional souks appear to have been replaced by stalls selling cheap trainers, clothes, copy watches and handbags.
The significant drop-off in tourism following the terrorist attacks a decade ago has been a major challenge.

Sousse, in general, is nice if you are looking for resort-type beaches and vibes; it is a bit shabby, and everywhere seems to be piles of rubbish and construction debris. The medina could use a deep clean to make it feel nicer. The people are friendly but very insistent, and most people (not shopkeepers) will go out of their way to help; it shows their kindness. If you are staying at a resort and have a bracelet attached, try to hide it when roaming around, as it attracts scammers and high-priced taxis. Police are everywhere you look and make us feel safe.

I did not go sight seeing. However, the people there are the best of humankind. I was there go get a family member back to UK who had fallen sick whilst on holiday in Sousse. From
Taxi driver to hotel staff, they came to help in any way possible.

One of the cleanest and most organised cities in Tunisia...
One of the cleanest and most organised cities in Tunisia with excellent beach, but lacks Tunisian character. Very much designed for all inclusive hotel tourism, for the type of tourist that hardly ever sets foot on the street.

Sousse is okay the Medina Market is large, walled like a castle, everything seemed to close early in February people friendly safe, trains and metro available, 4 days was enough or go all inclusive in the middle of nowhere ,bit like Morrocco but more touristy there were bars

2 to 3 days is enough.
2 to 3 days is enough. The constant scammers are quite annoying. Taxi's are cheap but insist it is a meter journey and sit in the front to see the fare. Cafes are good but check your menu vs bill. Local places are better than touristy places. Not so nice looking but a better more genuine experience.

Traditional Tunisian style building featured in the national newspaper.
Staff lady was very attentive to our needs and the boss Umar was very generous with a token gateau cake welcome and allowed us to leave the bags for half a day after checkout as we managed to get in a very very short trip to Kaouirain.
5 min walk to the biggest and oldest mosque in town , the biggest showcase around and a further 5-10 min walk to the cornich. And Ofcourse the old souq which is adjacent to the mosque.

Dar Hkaiem is in a lovely traditional neighbourhood. Can easily walk to the beach. Public transport easily available. Private rooms with communal kitchen and common areas. Outdoor area for dining. Very relaxing and quiet. The owner Tou Tou is a real gem. Very helpful, thoughtful and kind. Very knowledgeable about Tunisia. I highly recommend this property.
