The location is amazing, less than 5 minutes walk to the main sights, many restaurants, cafes, supermarkets, etc. The hotel itself is beautiful and one of a kind, room was comfortable and spacious. All staff was nice, cleaning ladies were very kind and always smiling, and a guy at the reception (I unfortunately forgot to ask his name, short brown hair, younger) was really helpful with restaurant recommendations, always having a nice word when I crossed the reception and he also helped calling my driver when I didn’t get info on when he arrives. Oh, I almost forgot the bed and pillows, the best ones I had during my countless hotel stays!

We had a lovely time at the Hotel. The staff is very friendly, the breakfast is tasty and the room is big and confortable. The localization is also pretty convinient: is near from the public transportation and also from the "tourist center" (just 15 minutes of walking), and there is also a lot of bars and restaurants just some blocks away (and it is not in the middle of this, what is great for sleep!). So, I totally recomend the place to stay!

The Best of Asia and Europe

The city of Istanbul offers a trip unlike any other, encompassing Asian and European cultures to create a heady mix of art, music and food. The amazing Old Town and the Sultanahmet are home to iconic Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sophia. More history is hidden in the Topkapi Palace, where you can glimpse the splendour and opulence of Turkey’s Ottoman heritage.

Take a stroll through the historic centre or the bustling Taksim Square before watching the sun set behind countless mosques and minarets. Local fish markets and numerous restaurants lining the bridge to Galata offer the Golden Horn’s daily catch.

If you prefer the fine art of bargaining to fine art, lose yourself in the Grand Bazar and maybe you’ll emerge with a hookah, some Turkish coffee, or even a carpet. The Spice Bazar further immerses you in the sights, smells, and tastes of Turkish culture.

Istanbul has amazing history.

Istanbul has amazing history. Get to the right parts of the city and you will be astounded. I did not find getting around that easy, conquering the cheap public transport, as I only had limited time. Once I did a little bit, it was easier. Traffic is fierce, and taxi drivers will try to rip you off at every opportunity, and laugh in your face about it, or offer to take you out for dinner, or more lewd suggestions, if you are 'unhappy'. Add many male vendors to that. A very ingrained sexist society. As a female travelling alone, the men made it a difficult experience, unfortunately. I do not recommend it for solo female travellers..team up with others, including males, for less harassment, in my opinion.

In 5 days we saw all the main sites as well as taking a day trip out to the islands. There is plenty to see and some great history. We found the local people friendly and many spoke good English. We felt quite safe. We took a walking tour on day one so we could plan the rest of our visit. The guide was really helpful on what to see and where to eat as well as giving us a brief history. Food was simple but well prepared and very cheap. Travelling was also very cheap - trams, boats and the metro. The prize for us was the Bosphorus. You can just sit and watch it all day with the constant procession of shipping up and down

Visits to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace,...

Visits to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, Basilica Cistern were so interesting. The Topkapi Palace in particular was very educational. The Grand Bazaar is not to be missed, but not a very comfortable shopping experience! A trip to the area of Balat is recommended, a bit quieter with good shops and restaurants.

Istanbul is a big city and has a lot to offer.

Istanbul is a big city and has a lot to offer. Food is nice as well if you know where to eat. Transport links and metro are good. However, traffic is terrible, and one thing which really surprised me was the fact that 80-90 % of the people, even at a young age and even at very touristic places, don't speak English at all, and I find this very strange. Language is a big problem, especially if you need to ask something, even in big shopping centres, where they don't speak English. Also, it was much more expensive compared to two years ago, when we visited Istanbul.

Some taxi drivers in Istanbul are unfortunately very dishonest and take advantage of tourists. My guests spoke Turkish perfectly and could communicate without any problem, but because they were tourists, this driver tried to cheat them. He drove them around for over an hour instead of taking the direct route and overcharged them. I have heard from many people that this is a common problem, especially in busy areas like Taksim. However, the next day, some honest locals helped them use the metro safely and without extra cost. Istanbul needs to ensure tourists can trust taxi drivers, because traveling in a new city should not be stressful or unsafe.

The hotel is located in a very lively and nice area, close to Taksim Square. There are numerous restaurants and supermarkets nearby. The room was very cosy and clean. It was also quiet. The staff was very nice and ready to help. They welcomed us with cakes and coffee. They organized us a VIP transfer to the airport in a very early morning. I strongly recommend this place to stay in Istanbul.

Fantastic hotel and great staff with amazing customer service. The location is by far one of the best in the Taksim side of Istanbul. Taksim square is a mere 5 minutes walk as is the Taksim metro. And Istiklal street is also 5-7 mins by walk. Close to all city transport links too. Good variety breakfast and a super clean hotel. Thank you to the staff for a great stay.
