IrelandThe lovely owner and her delightful colleague were most welcoming and provided us with 2 wonderful days in Selçuk. The hotel is very clean, exceptionally tasteful and comfortable. The room was spacious, the beds very comfortable and we had direct access from our room to the pieceful yard. Great care for every detail is taken. The bathroom was large and the toiletries much nicer than usual. They smelled beautiful of olive and lavendar. They seemed to be from local producers. The breakfast was a delicious large spread of traditional Turkish food. A special perk was the freshly squeezed orange juice and tasty coffee. The location was quiet and we could walk to little restaurants in the old part of the town. We highly recommend In Efes Boutique Hotel and will go back if in the area again.

IndiaThe room was squeaky clean. The hotel was centrally located. 10 minutes walk to the train and the bus stations. They had good tie ups with travel agencies for tours to Ephesus and Pamukkale. Breakfast was served on time. House cleaning was brilliant.
Omer and his friend (who run the hotel) helped with arranging transport, the right buses to take.

SingaporeThis was a really wonderful hotel and we were sad to say goodbye. The staff were exceptional- even keeping the restaurant open for us for a late dinner when our plans changed due to rain. Thank you to everyone and especially Abi Dean and Melisa. The food was also very good - both the included buffet breakfast and the purchased other food. The rooms were sweet as were the pool and garden, where there are also turtles. From the street the hotel doesn’t look like it will be that nice - but don’t let that fool you. It was a really great value for money and left us with very nice memories!

This is where to stay if visiting Ephesus!!
This is where to stay if visiting Ephesus!! But lots more in the area. Allow a day for the castle , a day for village(/s), a day for Ephesus.
Unfortunately the Ephesus entry now includes what was once a 15 Euro charge for the "Ephesus Experience". So price up from 25 to 40.
Sadly the "Experience" seemed inappropriate- high tech visuals to show storm waves somehow closing off the harbour (it gradually silted up over the centuries... ). Giant Mark Anthony and Cleopatra on separate chariots in the main street... interesting computer graphics, but not something I would voluntarily pay for. And I don't really buy the idea that the Godess Artemis is really watching over the town to this very day. Selcuk doesn't need this.

Selçuk is a pleasant and welcoming small town with a surprising number of historic gems. It’s easy to explore, offers plenty of places to eat, and many locals speak enough English to make ordering food or shopping very comfortable. The atmosphere is relaxed, and the town feels like a natural gateway into the ancient world of Ephesus.
As a solo female traveler, however, I did experience a few moments that made me feel uncomfortable. During an evening walk, I was stared at in a way that felt overly intense, and in some cases men called after me with “Madam.” While nothing threatening happened, this kind of behavior can make a woman feel uneasy, especially when traveling alone.
It would be wonderful if the city could consider a small awareness campaign about respectful behavior toward tourists from different cultures. Selçuk has so much beauty and charm to offer — a bit of cultural sensitivity would make it an even more exceptional destination for everyone.

Selcuk is a small town. Truly a local experience.
Selcuk is a small town. Truly a local experience. Not touristy at all. Accommodation options are sparse. But the location is very convenience to Ephesus and Sirince Village and saves over an hour going to Pamukkale (instead of from Izmir). It is also a short, convenient 1.5 hr train ride to Izmir.

The place was great as the location was close to everything like going to Ephesus, The Basillica of John, restaurants, the House of Virgin Mary, etc. The place also felt safe walking around at night. Transport was easily accessible as well. Overall, Selcuk is great tourist place.

Very nice and pleasant town for a visit to Ephesus and other interesting places like the cathedral of St. John and the Isa Bey Mosque. There are also very good Turkish food restaurants like Selcuk Koftecisi.

Our driver Mustafá was very kind.
Our driver Mustafá was very kind. He drove us around all the sights including Ephesus Ruins, St John Basilica, Virgin Mary’s House and Artemis Monument, all in one day. Only down side is we had to pay cash since they don’t accept credit card. One needs a form of transportation since it is not walking distance. Be prepared in the heat with umbrella, hat, sunscreen, handheld fan and water.

We loved our stay at the in Ephesus Hotel. The host was so kind and responsive. She anticipated our every need and more. The hotel is quietly elegant and peaceful with spacious rooms and comfortable beds. The breakfast was a highlight of our trip to Turkey. We were able to walk 200 metres from our door to explore St. John Bascilica. Quality dinner options are a short stroll away. We wholeheartedly recommend staying at the in Ephesus Hotel and Art Gallery.

We stayed just one night to visit Ephesus. The room was very comfortable, location is perfect to reach the site and the staff is extremely friendly. Room has air conditioning, but also large windows with mosquitos’ nets. Bed and bathroom are comfortable. Good breakfast with both sweet and salty food (rare in Turkey).

We loved everything about Akanthus. Great location close to sites and a real haven. Spotlessly clean, beautifully appointed, great breakfast, and the staff and owner were just terrific. I couldn't fault the place. The best hotel during our stay in Turkey.

Breakfast is a typical Turkish breakfast, the best we had in Turkey. The jams are home made with the fruits from their trees.

Really beautiful hotel in the centre of Selcuk very close to all of the historical sites. The staff members Halil and Furkan were extremely helpful with getting to the sites and showed great hospitality.
