CanadaIt was a very pleasant stay. The hotel was clean and looked new. The staff there was very helpful and accommodating. The room was spacious for three people. The location was good if you like to shop for high tech products as there are two digital malls and several small shops across the street. Sogo is about 20 min walk. Transportation was convenient with a subway station right next to the hotel. The taxi fare was very reasonable and it cost 200 NTD to go to Ximending. Overall the stay was amazing and we will definitely stay here again.

The Undiscovered Asian Capital
Capital of the Republic of China (commonly known as Taiwan), huge Taipei is surrounded by mountains. Taipei 101, once the world’s tallest building, dominates its skyline from Xinyi, an area known for the most active nightlife.
At Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall the national flag is raised every morning and the guard changed every hour. Less known for tourists is National Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, containing a tall bronze statue of the country’s founding father.
Taipei has tons of museums, but the best are Shung Ye Museum of Formosan Aborigines and the National Palace Museum – one of world’s largest collections of Chinese artifacts. Even more numerous are the temples dedicated to Buddhist, Taoist and Chinese folk religions. Xinsheng South Road is nicknamed "Road to Heaven" for its sheer number, but most famous is Longshan Temple in Wanhua, the oldest district.
Taipei shopping is fantastic and includes Core Pacific Living Mall, supposedly Asia’s largest. The Ximending area has lots of shops (and karaoke), while the Shilin Night Market should not be missed. For a break from the bustle head to central Daan Forest Park, the botanical gardens with its lotus ponds,or Yangmingshan National Park, known for hot spring baths and spring cherry blossom.
Whether you fly into Songshan or Taiwan Taoyuan Airport, the well connected public transportation system can take you to any Taipei hotel on Booking.com.

Inflation has hit Taiwan hard; things are getting more expensive, and quality remains the same. The shops are getting repetitive, but the things they sell can have a price difference of 30% or more, so check around different shops before buying something expensive. Taipei have become very crowded too, enjoyable tourist attractions are now swamped with people, mainly due to Taiwan not opening up new tourist attractions in the past decades. Taiwan is a nice place to visit but not a place to visit frequently because it does not change much or have new attractions so it might be boring for multiple visits. Do visit other city instead of Taipei, as it became really boring now.

Loved Taipei and it is now one of my favourite cities to visit. The people were very nice and ready to help whenever asked. It was very refreshing to find a city that has such a strong sense of civic pride. I didn't see any litter, plastic bottles or discarded cans. Not a sign of any graffiti. It was such a change from so many other cities I visit.
The city centre felt very safe to walk around on my own at night.
Loved the MRT metro system, which can take you anywhere in the city at a cheap price. The way the MRT system is organised made it very easy to use, especially for a foreigner, as all stations are designated with an identifying letter and number; no need to rely on any foreign names.
All in all, I couldn't find anything I disliked about Taipei and will definitely be back for another visit.

Easy to get to tourist attractions by MRT and bus, definitely get the Easyoass. Night markets are must see. Street food is good and cheap. The Klook day tour to Geopark, Jifun and Shifun is a highly recommended.

Taipei is a great city that has everything to offer: culture, history, great sights to visit, friendly people and not to forget the absolutely great cuisine.
Getting around is a doddle with the efficient public transport system and you can easily find something to your taste to eat or drink at every 10 metres or so.

1. Location: Just a few steps from metro station. It is just 1 stop from Taipei Station. It is easy to get the airport from the metro station. Around 10 minutes from Xinmen by bus. 3 convenience stores and 1 supermarket are 3mins away from the hotel.
2. Budget price: 50% cheaper than the hotel near Taipei Station but it is only 1 stop away from Taipei Station.
3. Spacious, clean, modern and comfortable room.

On this trip, our adult kids needed a room to stay in because grandma's apartment didn't have enough space for them. We selected this nearby hotel as it was next to the MRT station, inexpensive and we thought there would be lots of places to eat in the surrounding area. It was a value-priced room right in the heart of Taipei. Uniqlo was right across the street!

The room was beautiful. Incredible view, super comfortable bed, great lighting, quiet, huge corridors, quick elevators, public bath. I've stayed in Mitsui Garden hotels in Japan and this one in Taipei is equally as impressive.
