United StatesThe rooms are perfect, the staff was amazing. The Onsen is fun. The breakfast is delicious and worth it. The Japanese toilets in the rooms are so much fun. The bathroom and privacy they are able to give in such a small space while getting a full tub and beautiful shower is a fantastic layout. The bed was very comfortable. AC WAS AMAZING. The lounge is a nice touch despite not having a bar. They had umbrellas for free to barrow and let us use the onsen after we checked out while we waited for our flight. Absolutely wonderful.

The Undiscovered Asian Capital
Capital of the Republic of China (commonly known as Taiwan), huge Taipei is surrounded by mountains. Taipei 101, once the world’s tallest building, dominates its skyline from Xinyi, an area known for the most active nightlife.
At Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall the national flag is raised every morning and the guard changed every hour. Less known for tourists is National Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, containing a tall bronze statue of the country’s founding father.
Taipei has tons of museums, but the best are Shung Ye Museum of Formosan Aborigines and the National Palace Museum – one of world’s largest collections of Chinese artifacts. Even more numerous are the temples dedicated to Buddhist, Taoist and Chinese folk religions. Xinsheng South Road is nicknamed "Road to Heaven" for its sheer number, but most famous is Longshan Temple in Wanhua, the oldest district.
Taipei shopping is fantastic and includes Core Pacific Living Mall, supposedly Asia’s largest. The Ximending area has lots of shops (and karaoke), while the Shilin Night Market should not be missed. For a break from the bustle head to central Daan Forest Park, the botanical gardens with its lotus ponds,or Yangmingshan National Park, known for hot spring baths and spring cherry blossom.
Whether you fly into Songshan or Taiwan Taoyuan Airport, the well connected public transportation system can take you to any Taipei hotel on Booking.com.

The curiosity of the range of food preps and cuisine. Difficulty communicating with most taxi drivers but was thankful to the hotel staff for having the location written in Tai language making it easier. In addition, unfortunately I was not able to do site seeing as my time schedule was tight for attendance for the medical conference.

Public transport is so well-developed and affordable that you can almost go to anywhere within the city. Also, less than 1 hour trip takes you to beautiful nature. Food, culture, people --- Taiwan is the top most favorite destination!

Inflation has hit Taiwan hard; things are getting more expensive, and quality remains the same. The shops are getting repetitive, but the things they sell can have a price difference of 30% or more, so check around different shops before buying something expensive. Taipei have become very crowded too, enjoyable tourist attractions are now swamped with people, mainly due to Taiwan not opening up new tourist attractions in the past decades. Taiwan is a nice place to visit but not a place to visit frequently because it does not change much or have new attractions so it might be boring for multiple visits. Do visit other city instead of Taipei, as it became really boring now.

Loved Taipei and it is now one of my favourite cities to visit. The people were very nice and ready to help whenever asked. It was very refreshing to find a city that has such a strong sense of civic pride. I didn't see any litter, plastic bottles or discarded cans. Not a sign of any graffiti. It was such a change from so many other cities I visit.
The city centre felt very safe to walk around on my own at night.
Loved the MRT metro system, which can take you anywhere in the city at a cheap price. The way the MRT system is organised made it very easy to use, especially for a foreigner, as all stations are designated with an identifying letter and number; no need to rely on any foreign names.
All in all, I couldn't find anything I disliked about Taipei and will definitely be back for another visit.

We especially wanted a base with car parking that we could use as a base to explore Yangmingshan and this was perfect. We had wonderful hiking within an easy 20-minute drive and, in the evenings, there were several excellent restaurants nearby to choose from. The staff were very kind and helpful. In fact, it was so good that we extended our stay and went into the centre of Taipei for a couple of days by bus from the stops right outside the hotel - super convenient!

The hotel has a mini-fridge so I bought some grocery products
Easily accessible from Taoyuan airport if travelling on Taoyuan Airport MRT (no changes needed)
The nearest station is Sanchong Station (airport MRT / metro), which is a 10-minute walk from the station (just walk down from the New Taipei Metropolitan Park)

Great location near Taipei 101 for a great price. It is a budget hotel so no lobby, no swimming pool and no complimentary breakfast. These were not important to us since we were sight seeing and only needed a clean and quiet place for the night. Near metro.

- near Taipei train station exit Z6, practically cannot miss the hotel in a building (level 4). A big plus as I took the first airport MRT at 5.30am to catch my flight home.
