As a foreign tourist, too much food to try but not as much attractions to go that you can stay long enough to try all the food haha.. so, positive side, if you are a true foodie, you will probably return again to try out other food and might need to revisit some attractions or dive deeper and look for hidden attractions. I stayed for 5D5N which i was in fact told by locals who i met that this is one of the longest stay they heard. They recommend 4D3N or in fact 3D2N is suffice, for attractions wise.
A pleasant place to stroll around by foot, which i did.. I spent hours a day walking along the streets to see various historical sites which are not too far away from each other. Gotta mention the locals are nice and courteous, enjoyed my time there.

A vibrant city with a very youthful energy. We found Tainan to be full of rich cultural and historical opportunities and enjoyed visiting Anping, Tainan Fine Art Museum, the Literature Museum, Confucius Temple, and Chi Mei Museum. We also found the cafe and coffee culture in the city to be some of the best we’ve found in Taiwan so far. There also seemed to always be something happening in the streets! We visited over Thu-Sun and saw a variety of trinket markets, night markets, Retrocession Day celebrations and even a halloween market! As with the rest of the country, all of the people are so kind and the food is delicious! We also found public transport to be very easy to navigate in Tainan, as well as time efficient. We will definitely be back!

we did a great walking tour with Emily (of https://www.likeitformosa.com/ ) of the Old Anping area. She has a great knowledge of Tainan's history and culture. We also enjoyed the Tainan Art Museum (the newer Building 2) exhibitions of contemporary artists' work. There's an excellent restaurant on level 5. Walking the streets is a great way to discover the architectural variety of the city, from Japanese colonial era to contemporary landmarks to traditional temples.
Recommended: www.ochatsuki.com.tw for the best tofu and soy drinks, soups, desserts!

The city is excellent and offers a great deal of places to visit, like Hayashi Store for some amazing souvenirs, Confucius Temple to appreciate the ancient learning and culture, a lot of Museums to showcase the art and history of the city, and the fantastic night markets for local cuisine of Tainan. You can access most of these places just with a single YouBike.

Go and see the old city at Anping - lots of interesting history, including Fort Zeelandia. Tainan is the oldest city in Taiwan so it is worth exploring. It would have been fun to hire a bicycle but we only had an evening. Next time!

Staff are well trained, they are all very pleasant, attentive and professional, make you feel welcomed.
Facilities are decent, bed is comfortable. My room at level 31 offers a brilliant view over almost the entire Tainan city.
Hotel is conveniently located at the back of Tainan railway station, it also connects to the Far Eastern shopping mall. Nearby is a university campus, surrounded by little eateries.
My stay in Far East Shangri-La Tainan is a pleasant experience overall.

The host (King) was extremely friendly and professional. It was a delight to be hosted by his company. The bed was also by far the most comfortable one I had ever slept on.
Furthermore, the hostel/hotel was incredibly clean, well equipped and intelligently managed. The next time I pass by Tainan, I will come by that place!

OK, it is a simple hotel. However, it is located in the center of Tainan, good access to any places. The price is very competitive. Last time, I was not satisfied because they ask for additional charges. This time was totally the opposite, I was upgraded free of charge

Spacious room, great convenient location within 2 mins walk from Tainan station (not Tainan HSR station)! Lots of shops, and Family mart nearby. Staff were friendly, room was clean and toilet seat is automated and heated. Hotel provided free refreshments too.
