FAQs about hotels in Boston

Where Everybody Knows Your Name

One of the oldest and most historic US cities, Boston is known as "America’s Walking City". In its heart, next to 18th-century Faneuil Hall, is Quince Market - a food haven. In the nearby seaport, you can take a whale-watching trip or dine at one of the many restaurants serving a Boston specialty: lobster with melted butter.

The streets south of the peaceful Charles River in Back Bay are lined with Victorian brownstone houses. At the downtown end of one – Beacon Street – is the Cheers bar, modeled on the 80's sitcom. Opposite is Boston Common, a large park with a bronze sculpture celebrating the book "Make Way for Ducklings". The golden dome of the House of Representatives is by the other end.

The oldest part is Charlestown and streets around the Bunker Hill obelisk still feature old-style gas lamps, though now they are electric. Over in Cambridge, Harvard is the USA’s oldest and most prestigious university. The campus is open to the public, as is Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), whose central point is an emblematic, Pantheon-like building.

Sport in Boston is also a big thing, with the Celtics and Red Sox among the city’s big name teams.

The largest New England city, Boston has the perfect size for walking and cycling. Logan International Airport is connected by public transport to Boston hotels, motels, apartments and B&Bs.

Too many items to complain about.

Too many items to complain about. Three door codes, each of which at time did not work and try to get a hold of someone...smelly elevator that shakes like crazy and smelly hallways. Old carpeting in the room, way too small and the A/C unit blocked access to one side of the bed. CHEAP cheap furniture. TV, but no channels, no shades, so better plan on getting up with the sun. Very expensive for a terrible experience!!! My girlfriend made us l eave after one night, so what does that tell you?!

We try to start our visit to any city with a hop-on, hop-off bus tour, and it was definitely worth doing so in Boston. It really exposed us to what to see over the next couple of days. Same with the guided walking tour of historical, downtown Boston. Recommend both highly. Of course you need a week to see everything, but we only had 2 full days, so made the most of it. If you can pay more for lodging, stay somewhere as close as possible to downtown (we stayed in Chinatown), so you can walk to most destinations. Driving is a nightmare and ubers/lyfts are expensive.

It was a great trip, but it was too short because we did a whole day of sightseeing in Boston, then went to Martha’s Vineyard one day and then Salem on our next day and then unfortunately had to leave so we will be coming back to spend more time in Boston.

City full of history. Not just sports but also culture. I would suggest at least 3 days to make the most of it. Traveling 'The T' could be confusing due to on-going maintenance, check stations before you ride.

Boston is the story of American Independence and there is plenty to see if you follow the "Freedom Trail" either on your own or with one of the many guides. there is no shortage of places to eat with Italian on the North Side and Irish on the South. The museum of science is excellent as is a visit by the ferry boat to the Charlestown Naval Yard (Museum and Ships closed on Mondays). Boston is a good place to start a visit to New England especially in the Autumn to see the trees plus the Covered Bridges.

The hotel is in a central location for the whole of downtown Boston, you can access areas such as Fenway park, Back bay, North End and all the etc.. very easily. The hotel is very quiet (no disturbance from hospital) and has a restaurant, bar and shop. Our room was amble size and the bed was very comfy. We really enjoyed staying at Doubletree and exploring Boston. Shout out to the Reception team who were very quick and professional. Bonus - Starbucks is attached to the hotel for those early morning caffeine drinks.

This place is ultra busy. No matter; I thought the desk staff were outstanding and very helpful when we had a minor crisis to deal with. This is a very convenient hotel for Logan Airport and a free shuttle bus runs every half an hour for most of the day and night. The airport is a short drive away. Clean, comfortable and reasonable value given the hotel prices in the Boston area. We did not use any of the facilities or breakfast. Well recommended for your last night before flying.

The location was ideal for meeting friends in Boston, close to downtown and also walkable distance to MIT/Harvard, which was good.
