The Shuck n shack is a really great spot to eat. We also loved the Southerly for breakfast. The beach is beautiful, and when the boardwalk is open, its really fun. Its a great spot to take your family, your friends, or just have a little me time!

Carolina Beach is great in itself with beautiful beaches and fun atmosphere. CB is also centrally located and easy to get to other great attractions and towns, Kure, Wrightsville Beach and Wilmington. We enjoyed 2 state parks Carolina Beach State Park and Fort Fischer. At CB state park we fished and loved exploring Fort Fisher. Tip, Dogs (on leash) are allowed year round at Fort Fisher on the beach.

Carolina Beach offers everything you could want - restaurants vary from upscale to family to boardwalk concessions. There is a farmer's market, a rustic grocery (Veggie Wagon), small and large supermarkets. The beach is clean and was not crowded while we were there. The people were nice and there were activities such as an outdoor concert and boat rides.

This was somewhat of a "down memory lane" trip.
This was somewhat of a "down memory lane" trip. For over 25 years my family went to Carolina Beach for a week during the summer and made many memories. But, life goes on, things happen: some move away, people age, some pass away. It has been around 7 years since our last trip (and it used to be a lot!! of us)! The landscape has changed, in fact, quite a bit has changed and I do miss the "old" Carolina Beach, There are more residential areas, so many of the "old"landmarks have disappeared, no more "free or "reasonable" parking, but it was nice going back and "reliving" old memories with a few family members. Its still a beautiful beach and great place to visit.

The beach was good, I had no problems with the beach.
The beach was good, I had no problems with the beach. We ate at the Island Burgers, Subway, and I Hop. Getting around was really easy. Fun activities included fishing, sightseeing in a horse drawing carriage, and walking along the beach.

Carolina Beach was a nice surprise for a summer vacation in July. Had never been there before and didn't know what to expect but we fell in love with it. The ocean was just so warm & beautiful, and the beach was so sandy and large. We noticed rain clouds pop up during the afternoons over land, but it was always sunny at the beach! There was more than we expected here - not just the ocean but the town itself was hopping. Restaurants, shops, and things to do on the boardwalk. There is an actual amusement park; expensive, but there. We never made it to the Carolina Beach State Park, but that will be high on our list for next time. We spent very little time in our motel because we were always out and about. Leave your car parked and just walk everywhere. Also, a trip into Wilmington to see the battleship is well worth it - mind-blowing.

Great property and location! Was in walking distance of Carolina Beach and had a great underground pool nearby and hot tub. Was very clean! The host was very friendly and responsive! It was nice to use the codes for the condo door and the gate that allowed access to the beach! Was nice there was a lot of beach accessories towels and toys provided in the closet. The parking was right in front of the condo. Had a great stay!;)

I love staying at Golden Sands, it is a smaller hotel but has fantastic views, beachfront! Staff is very nice. Rooms have been redone and are very cute. It is not a Marriot or Hampton Inn so you can't compare them to that but it is a great family place to stay. I travel alone a lot and feel very safe here!
