The photos don't do this place justice - First it looked like a small B&B and then like a motel - which it is neither - it's a great, friendly and comfortable hotel with large comfortable rooms and nice bathrooms. The breakfast is great, they have relatively cheap parking and the location is great - a few minutes walk to Cannery Row, Monterey Bay Aquarium, restaurants (we'd recommend Hulas Island Grill), and a 15 minute drive to Carmel & 17 mile drive. Would absolutely recommend this place - such great value.

A Wild Coastline and Even Wilder Sealife
Known for beautifully undulating coastline attracting a wealth of wildlife, laidback Monterey is set on a small peninsula. Though now more famous for Monterey Jack cheese, it was once an important sardine fishing town. Some ex-canning factories now house galleries and shops on a street renamed Cannery Row after a novel by John Steinbeck. A museum and his former home in nearby Salinas can be visited.
The fantastic Monterey Bay Aquarium houses a fascinating range of local sealife, which is so prevalent here that you can often see seals basking on craggy beaches, or sea lions roaring away under piers in Fisherman’s Wharf. Whalewatching tours also depart from here.
South is the Monterey State Historic Park, site of historic buildings including Custom House and the Old Whaling Station with a path made from whalebone. To the east are a couple of Monterey hotels on the beach on Booking.com, and there are also several Monterey hotels with indoor pools.
Right by Monterey Peninsula Airport is one of the city’s 7 golf courses, and there are 3 golf courses near the Laguna Seca Raceway.

I had the best time and will definitely be back! As a solo female traveler, I felt very safe as I was visiting beaches, walking the streets downtown, hiking the state parks, etc. It was a clean and beautiful city with so much to do! If you have the opportunity - you MUST do a whale watching tour! I did the morning 4 hour tour through Monterey Bay Whale Watch and it was incredible! The only thing I did that felt like a bit of a waste was the aquarium - it is promoted heavily around town and I'm not sure if it's just because I've been to so many other better aquariums, but it felt overpriced and extremely small.

There was blood on the front door, the room was not clean. The mirror was broken and the window was missing the screens. I brought two cars and the person at the front desk said I needed to park one of my cars at the business next door and said don’t worry about their private parking signs in the business next door parking lot. It was so gross in the bathroom, there was black hair all over the shower and bathroom floor and the bed blankets smelled so bad you can tell they have not been washed in months. I will never recommend that place to anyone. And I was over charged- I paid 400$/ night and the next day when I left their website said 78$ per night. It was embarrassing.

I like that the room is big and clean, but they should have 2 trash cans in the room instead of 1. We stayed there for 3 nights. We didn’t ask for cleaning service the next day, but on the 2nd day we left in the morning came back in the room around 3 pm expecting that our room would be cleaned and ready, but we were disappointed that it hasn’t been cleaned yet. Good thing the cleaner was next door cleaning that room. We just asked for some fresh towels and to empty the trash can. They have reasonable price.

The town felt both quaintly and historically antiquated, yet superbly modern. For example, the aquarium seemed both historic while also avant guarde in ecological and environmental studies. Bravo to one and to all, I hereby resolve.

Montrey is a nice tourist area.
Montrey is a nice tourist area. We liked the beach, the nature, restaurant, etc. We are recommending our relatives/friends to spend their vacation in there. The beach activities are wonderful. We ate in amny restaurant including see food.

The coastal views are endless.
The coastal views are endless. I loved how walkable everything was. I also took a short bus to Carmel which is the nicest beach I have seen in the US. I missed out on the 17 mile scenic drive without having a car, but I will be back :)

This hotel offered great value, and the staff was exceptionally friendly. Although we arrived late, they assisted us and allowed us to relax. They provide breakfast, but it is not extensive- only a selection of pastries, coffee, and tea. However, it's sufficient, especially since many hotels serve disappointing breakfast options. The location is good, just 5 to 10 minutes away from the center of Monterey and the highway.

I highly recommend this hotel. Location can’t be beat, within walking distance to Monterey wharf, waterfront
and downtown. My deluxe fireplace room was spacious, clean and the staff was extemely accomodating. Breakfast was better than expected. Will come back again!

The location was great, it was just 3 minutes walking distance from the Old Fisherman's Wharf.
We had dinner at the hotel dining, Jack's Monterey. It was also great Californian cuisine, especially chowder and cioppino were our taste!

Superb hotel right on the beach with the most incredible views. Definitely go for a sea view. We loved everything including the room service and the binoculars in the room to watch the otters.
