SwitzerlandIt was a beautiful room. We were in the Octopus room. Large terrace with a small view of the Morro Rock. The room was warmly decorated and had a great bed. It was comfortable with a Memeroy Foam mattress. Truly unique. The hotel definitely deserves the best rating. The owner gave us a warm welcome and showed us the room personally. The small store under the hotel is stocked with lots of little things and is well worth a visit.
Unfortunately we were only there for one night, next time we will definitely stay longer! It's worth it, every dollar is worth it!

This time of year is great to visit.
This time of year is great to visit. Being off season Morro Bay feels like a sleepy seaside village leaving you time to relax and stroll around away from the crowds. I’ve eaten at Dorns which is wonderful and Rudy’s Rock Cafe. Rudy’s has a garden get away in the back which is a great spot to visit, while enjoying a coffee and simple breakfast. Come early if you want his homemade quiche. .

Visit here often.
Visit here often. I enjoy the laidback atmosphere and ease of wandering the town. Parking is free, which makes things hassle free. The prices at local businesses are so local compared to other coastal cities in California. The staff and residents are friendly and low key.

I live close to Morro Bay at it’s one of my favorite places to go to relax & regroup. It’s my favorite place to bring out of town guests. Amazing restaurants like Kickers, awesome hotels like Hotel Avisa, best shopping on the Embarcadero, crazy beautiful views and great people no matter where you go. Whether you want to go golfing, kayaking, deep sea fishing, a day at the beach Morro Bay doesn’t disappoint! One choice you’ll never regret!!!

Morro Bay is a charming beachside town.
Morro Bay is a charming beachside town. It has really good seafood restaurants, a lot of ambience. It may be a little too touristy for some, but it's a great walking town. And, I've never seen so many people with their dogs on vacation walking around. Made me wish we had brought our puppies with us. A lot of different ways to enjoy the estuary, from kayaking, to tiki boats, to fishing, hiking and surfing. This little town has it all. And it's close to San Luis Obispo, Paso Robles wineries, and the most beautiful coastline in the world.

We stopped in Morro Bay for a night on our way home to San Francisco from Venice Beach (great halfway point) and enjoyed our waterfront hotel. The town is very small so very walkable. The waterfront has a bit of a touristy feel with lots of souvenir shops and restaurants. The "downtown" is a couple of blocks of thrift and antique stores, coffee shops, etc. We were there on a Saturday and enjoyed the weekly farmers market.

Good location to break journey between San Francisco and LA. Hotel clean and comfortable. Excellent size family rooms. Additional facilities like pool, buffet breakfast included and food and coffee facilities in reception were great additions.
