United KingdomLocation is superb, you can walk all throughout the Historic District so no need to use your car once you arrive if you want to stay local. Staff were excellent, friendly, always smiling and very very helpful. Gave us a map of the area, pointing out where the hotel is and where other key points of interest were, also provided a list of recommended places to eat/drink, two if which we tried and both were excellent. Breakfast was good and plenty of it.

We went to St.
We went to St. Augustine specifically to see the Christmas lights, and it did not disappoint! We did the Nights of Lights boat tour our first night and it was amazing to see all the lights in town from the boat. The 'first mate' gave some history about St. Augustine which was nice.
The following morning, we did the Hop On-Hop Off tour on the trolly. We stayed on for the full tour (22 stops - about an hour or so long) before getting off. Our 'conductor' was very good and very informative from telling us some history of the area to everything going on in St. Augustine. After the tour we got off the trolly and walked the whole area.
At night, we walked back from the hotel (about a mile) to the center of town to see the lights close up and to take many pictures!
Overall, the trip was what we expected, and we were very pleased!

Wonderful place to explore.
Wonderful place to explore. Most items don't open till later in the day as they stay open later in the evenings. Lots of walking but worth it. Parking is very limited especially in the heart of the historic district. Lots of food options and items to look around/explore.

The history was really interesting.
The history was really interesting. Hoping on the tourist train around the town was brilliant as it showed us places that we would not walk to. Got a great ticket for 2 days so did the tour twice. The centre is fabulous with the little shops and restaurants. We loved the old hotel converted into college and the churches. We did not go to the beach or visited the other side of the river.

We spent 2.5 days there. That was about right time to spend there. Very nice place. Practically everything is walking distance. Lots of places to visit. Liked the architecture. Good dining options. We are planning to visit again with friends.

St Augustine, “the oldest city in America “ has many points...
St Augustine, “the oldest city in America “ has many points of interest. Totally worth a visit. While there we visited Flagler College, The Colonial Experience, Zorayda Museum and the local wax museum. I would definitely recommend taking the trolley tour (“hop on, hop off) that takes you around town while learning about the local history. For a great meal with a fabulous view, go eat at Cap’s on the Water. Delicious! As with many cities, parking is always challenging but there are parking lots with meters that are located fairly close to the Spanish Quarter/ downtown shopping area.

The staff were able to check us in early which was very helpful as we were trying to get somewhere safe from the impending hurricane.
The bedroom was a great size, comfy bed and the bathroom was OK.
Great having a patio looking out over the waters and St Augustine.
Interesting choice of places to eat within easy walking distance of the hotel.
Easy drive to the beach from the hotel.
We were able to park right outside our room so helpful to move our luggage and shopping into the room.

This was an amazing stay at the Renaissance St. Augustine Historic Downtown Hotel. Not only is it a beautiful property, but the interior is decorated amazingly beautiful. We had a very nice room, that was big and decorated beautifully and the bed was soo comfortable. The fitness centre was very clean and well equipped and the staff were very friendly.
