She made up for a very bad experience at another hotel the prior night, and I have nothing but good things to say about my time at Pear Tree Inn.

The Westin albeit probably a great hotel but parking was not,
We were instructed to drive two blocks away from hotel and stay in garage, very seedy area. I ordered the room from booking hotel and it stated no refund. However, I called operator probably 4 times because we were told we couldn't park in the space he stated. We called LaQuinta and got a room, now this was at night, I booked for the next day. LaQuinta was extremely kind and even though we had to repay for the night the next day was credited back

The Blues Museum was lovely, easy-to-follow and engagingly laid out. The central part of the city with parks and statues was beautiful. Public transport is making a comeback, and there are many walkable areas.

I took mine-year-old grandson to St Louis for 4 days. We had a wonderful trip the city museum was the highlight of the trip the St Louis zoo was a close second. The aquarium was okay. It wasn't as big as we had hoped. They did have a rope maze there which I'm sure would have been fun for somebody not afraid of heights like we were. The science center was okay but it was extremely crowded the day that we were there.

Went to see the Arch. Many others were there for baseball. If going for a specific reason then do not hesitate to visit St. Louis. Walking around downtown one could not help but notice many vacant buildings. The city seemed in decline. Was able to get the 3 recommended foods of St. Louis; Ooey Gooey Butter Cake, Barbecue pork ribs, and Fried Ravioli. All 3 are worth searching out, especially the Butter Cake that we found at Schnuck's Grocery.

We did a pass thru on the way to a different state so only stayed one night. On the way home we stayed 4 days for the 4th of July celebration. We visited the Gateway Arch NP and went to the top of the arch and that was great views and fun. We also stayed for the fireworks which were Wonderful from right below the Arch. We also had fun on a riverboat cruise. If I were to do this again, I would watch the fireworks from across the river and then be able to see the Arch behind the fireworks, since they launch from a badge in the Mississippi river. We had fun at Union Station Ferris wheel and the Aquarium is there as well. We also walked from the Pear Tree Inn to tour the John Campbell historic house, the staff there were very friendly and it was an interesting and beautiful historic house to tour. It was very educational for our child as well.

A very welcoming city hotel close to the soccer stadium and within a few minutes to the Arch snd Cahokia mounds. The room was very nice and comfortable. We particularly liked the staff - everyone was forthcoming and welcoming.

Basic hotel in downtown of St.Louis. I guess the area is dodgy, because there was a security tower in the parking lot. lol. Otherwise it was decent place to stay overnight.
