Fabled in Song and Film
Between Venice Beach and Pacific Palisades, glamorous Santa Monica is surrounded by LA suburbs, but is a city in its own right. Its most iconic landmark is Santa Monica Pier and at its tip is a good helping of kitsch marking the end point of legendary Route 66. It also houses a ballroom and several amusements including a historic carousel.
The wide, sandy beach either side is popular with surfers, and to the north is backed by a low ridge which develops into undulating hills as you head towards Malibu. In the opposite direction a palm-lined promenade leads to Venice past bohemian shops.
Wide avenues ending at the beach are also palm-lined and none is more famous than Santa Monica Boulevard, which continues past Beverly Hills to Hollywood. The city’s grand homes are popular with those associated with the silver screen and during the 60s the Oscars were held in Santa Monica Civic Auditorium, now a conference and classical music venue.
Famous faces can often be spotted in designer boutiques on Montana Avenue, while Main Street has lower end shops, and the international brands of pedestrianised Third Street Promenade are found amid restaurants and bars offering great nightlife.

Perfect location in Santa Monica. The neighborhood was quiet, and there were multiple restaurants, a Trader Joe's, and a Whole Foods within a few blocks. There's even an Erewhon within walking distance. The apartment was really spacious - much larger than I expected - and it was very clean. It also had 1.5 baths! The dedicated parking spot that was included was incredibly helpful - parking is expensive in LA! Finally, communication from our host was excellent and clear.

A beautiful, large, light property, with welcoming owners. Supermarkets were just around the corner, so we could cook for ourselves, but also plenty of places to eat out nearby. The beach was around 30 minutes walk away, which was fine with our teenage children. Universal Studios was only a 30 minute drive away, too. Information about the property and the area was provided by the hosts and was really helpful and detailed.

A very pleasant apartment with easy access to public transport. A safe parking place for a car in the garage. Communication went well and check-in and check-out were easy. We liked the gym and the pool area, the sun didn't shine on the pool areas all day. Everything worked and it was safe to live in. A good shop right next door, where it's easy to get food, etc.

Nice and safe area. The bedroom and bathroom are very clean and the little kitchen has all the facilities you need for your stay. The owner is always replying to questions. Good quality for the price. Close to Santa Monica beach (less than 15mn driving)

We enjoyed our staying at this spacious, clean, and convenient place in charming Santa Monica. Just a couple of minutes to walk to Whole Foods Market or Trader Joe’s, and we found very good local places for brunch near the apartment.
