Property was on the way to Snaefellsjokull National Park fairly well situated for a first night stop after morning arrival in Reykjavik. No restaurants in immediate area, so either dine as you drive through Borgarnes or some place closer to the park. Beautiful views.

Very well-maintained place that makes a unique but effective use of space. That said, consider the size of the upstairs area and the complications of needing the toilet in the middle of the night — quite an adventure! There are several apartments, usually in pairs, but the place still felt quiet and peaceful. The kitchen has a few basic utensils, enough for simple cooking or reheating, and the bathroom was nice and clean. A Low-cost gas station around the corner is another plus!

Out of all the places we stayed in our 3 weeks away from home, this was our very favorite! Its location was wonderful and a great base for us to explore the peninsula. We hope that when we go to Iceland in the future, we can stay here again. The house was so inviting and comfortable. The beds were incredible! We loved walking around Stykkishólmur; the walk up to the beacon was great and the view breathtaking. We even saw the Northern Lights while there. The host was extremely attentive and responded quickly to any questions we asked. What a find, this house in Stykkishólmur!

The lodge was well-equipped and tastefully furnished. It was clean, with good quality amenities to provide a comfortable and luxurious stay. The host was polite and hospitable, providing good information about the accommodation and surrounding attractions, well ahead of our stay.
