Amazing property with lovely views. There is a spa (we had fantastic massages and used the water treatment area). The staff is incredible and went above and beyond to make our stay special. Breakfast was lovely.

The place was very clean and had some good facilities. Nice sit out areas across the property. The property is very close to the beach. The staff is very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast presentation was outstanding. The staff even packed us a takeaway breakfast as we were leaving early for the airport.

We loved everything. It’s a very charming place in the countryside. Beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Above all, Joaquim, the owner is kind and helpful.

Don’t be fooled by the 2 star rating. I’ve stayed in 5 star hotels that weren’t as impressive. The complimentary glass of White Port on arrival set the tone for things to come. The property has been freshly renovated and has a very modern and stylish aesthetic. Everything was spotless. The staff and owner were all fantastic, lovely to deal with and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast and check-in/out times are very generous. You don’t need to be up at 8am when you’re supposed to be on holiday! Location was perfect, in the historic district of Porto, practically beside the Douro. None of the major landmarks or quality restaurants that we visited required more than a 20 minute walk. The staff had some helpful suggestions of dining options and bars. Many great bars and restaurants are within just 5-10 minutes. The breakfast buffet at the hotel had great variety to suit any taste, with hot and cold options, fresh fruit and pastries. I think we benefited from an introductory price as the property was new to Booking.com, but would gladly return at the very reasonable full rate for the quality of experience (this is not a paid endorsement!). We enjoyed a week in the top floor duplex suite and the space and balcony were fantastic. I would absolutely recommend Ribeira Douro to any couples looking for a boutique hotel delight in Porto.

It was our second time staying at Ventozelo. It is no doubt, the best property to enjoy Douro Valley. Gorgeous view of the river, amazing food, good wine, and lovely trails to enjoy.

Location - tranquility - view from the room - marvelous pools - natural shade by a variety of trees (no umbrellas needed!) - friendliness of staff - cleanliness of facilities - sumptuous breakfast with fresh food - ample parking space for rental cars - truly a five-star hotel with excellent value for money

When booking a trip to Duoro valley, my parents and I were told Six Senses was a must, but upon doing a little research, I came across the newly opened Torel Quinta da Vacaria. With only 2 reviews at that time (be it they were both 10/10 recommend) I was a little apprehensive to take the risk, but got the feeling it would be more cosy and authentic to the region. So we booked the newly opened Torel Quinta da Vacaria and it was the BEST DECISION EVER! Words cant describe how incredible this hotel is!! From the staff, the facilities, the views, the grounds, the rooms, the decor, the pool, the spa, everything was exceptional- all you can expect from a 5 star hotel and then some! The hallways smell incredible! The beds were very comfortable. The mini bar, coffee, tea, water was plentiful. But What stood out was the staff. They are so incredibly kind and attentive. In addition to the somewhat expected courtesies of a 5 star Hotel (i.e. helping with bags, valeting the car, activity and restaurant advice) they truly went above and beyond- making arrangements with service providers outside of the hotel, leaving water bottles in our car for when we picked it up, being extremely patient with our constantly changing plans and our somewhat chaotic group, they were always happy to help with a smile. Last and most touching, i fell ill on our last day- they offered to allow me to stay as long as I needed to rest, (i slept until 3pm!) and even offered to call a doctor to come to the hotel. We enjoyed the restaurant, the wines, the pool, the spa and more. Everything was perfect!

Love this beautiful place on the coast Husband and wife take exceptional care of the property and its visitors. Breakfast was amazing and everything we could have wanted.

The Staffs were so lovely! We had an amazing restful days at the property. The food, beverages and services are simply the best. And also the decoration and story of the house, and also having the chance to meet the owner and hear the story of the family and property was a bonus! Totally reccomeded! Breakfast was perfect and the pool services too. The beach is pretty close, by 10 minutes of a pleasent walk.
