It was so quiet and chilled and the food was excellent. The staff were really friendly as were the other guests….. slept like a log, glorious views from our cabin and there was plenty to do (if u wanted to)…, We did a lovely boat trip around the other islands and a fantastic bike mountain bike ride thru rural Rwanda. We even stopped at a school to meet the children and see them in their classrooms…

First off, this hotel is a hidden gem. Our tour company recommended their own suggestions and we were not pleased with them so we did our own research and I found this place. Wow! First off, it’s beautifully located right on Lake Kivu and is so relaxed and feels very safe with their own security. The room is beautiful, spacious, and has a great bathroom and patio. Moreover, the staff was outstanding and so attentive and communicative. And the food was outstanding on property. Breakfast is included so make sure to enjoy it. We also loved our dinner.

There’s truly nothing like this property. It’s a home they turned into a hotel and it’s so intimate. We will definitely be back!!

The hotel exudes a very private and familiar atmosphere, individual wishes were taken into account, the two owners are super friendly and accommodating, the hotel room was super clean and comfortable, the location is very central, although you can hardly hear the noises of the city.

The view over the lake is simply unbeatable, and the setup of the cottage—with its walk-in shower and peaceful surroundings—made it the perfect place to relax. A big thank you to the amazing staff, who took such great care of us. They prepared breakfast boxes early in the morning for our game drives and served delicious meals each evening. Their kindness and attention to detail really made our stay special. Although we spent three nights here, we feel like we barely scratched the surface of how beautiful and peaceful this place is. We’d love to come back and enjoy it even more.

Umutuzo Lodge Kivu Lake apresenta uma piscina exterior, jardim, uma área de praia privada e salão partilhado em Buhoro. The location is spectacular and our rooms were beautiful, clean and comfortable. The view from the room is mesmerizing. The staff are extremely helpful and responsive. The chef provided the most delicious menus we’ve had in Rwanda. Excellent meals!
