It was spacious and had a basic kitchenette with a hob ( but no pans!), fridge and microwave. The staff were particularly kind and helpful to us when my husband had a minor accident. We used the tram to get into the centre of Melbourne which took about 50 mins to an hour.

The property was located in close proximity (5 min walk) to the 86 tram and a 10 min walk to the Mernda train line which takes you directly into Flinders Street Station in central Melbourne. Great shower in the room, and kettle, fridge and microwave a bonus. Also having the laundry on the same floor. Nice little coffee shop/bar on ground floor too. Reception staff very helpful.

The facilities are modern and top-notch, and they are fully representative of the hotel's 5-star rating. The free trams stop right in front of the hotel, and it is easy to map your trip on Google and get all the necessary connections. The Australian Open grounds were within 8 minutes walk from the hotel, so it was easy to go back and forth. The Melbourne Cricket Ground is even closer for cricket fans and tourists.
