Askiesbos was one of the best places we stayed on our 3-week trip to Botswana. We stayed in one of the river tents with the outdoor bathroom and everything was very clean, with convenient places to put your things, like soap and toiletries. The common areas are comfy, with tea and coffee and filtered/purified water available on-tap. The view over the pan-handle papyrus whilst sat on a sofa was brilliant. We spotted a handful of birds just from there! Our excursions were booked ahead of time and were not only value for money but were brilliant. If you are interested in birds, ask for Lucky as your guide. We saw over 60-bird species in just two days spent with him (panhandle tour and Tsodilo hills walk). The accommodation is a little out of the way, but fully accessible from the main road and we were able to organise a pick-up from the bus stop also. Overall, fantastic stay - highly recommend.

What a great spot, away from noisy Maun, but close enough to enjoy the perks of Maun. We had no difficulty finding the place, although you need to drive a few km over dirt road. The staff was very friendly and well organised, the food was delicious. The chef made a special vegetable diner for me, on request, which made me very happy. After diner (with great view) you can sit around the campfire to share your days experiences. The staff can organise all kinds of activities, we wish we had known that in advance. This lodge is absolutely worth a visit, don’t hessitate is you think about going here.

Sitatunga Campsite Maun is a recently renovated campground in Maun, where guests can take a dip in its outdoor swimming pool and make the most of its free WiFi, open-air bath and garden. The property has garden and inner courtyard views, and is 15 km from Nhabe Museum. The campground has private entrance. Excellent quiet location as it is 10km south of Maun so none of the usual town noise. We had a chalet that was clean and comfortable with a lovely open air shower. Good to have electric sockets in the room and wifi to catch up with the world. Food in the restaurant was OK being mostly burgers and pizza.
