The Elewana Tortilis Camp was in a beautiful setting and the staff pulled out all of the stops to make our stay memorable. From the morning coffee/tea and cookies at wake-up to the breakfast in the bush and sundowner on top of a hill with staff Masai teaching us about their culture, the staff outdid themselves. The guide knew exactly how to track the elusive cats so that we were able to see a lioness and her 5 cubs and a cheetah and her 5 cubs. Not to mention the herds of elephants and many giraffes! What an amazing sight! Peris, Chris, Jimma, Ben, Graeme and Sandy, as well as all of the other staff whose names I have sadly forgotten, made for a fantastic safari experience!

We were initially hesitant to book after reading a review mentioning a problem with late arrivals, but our experience was completely different. We arrived late, and everything went smoothly. No one tried to overcharge or scam us, they treated us very well throughout our stay. Highly recommended!

Staff were excellent ( Bernard, Duncan, Griffin, Chef, Hotel mgr) Food was great, Chef was very accommodating and doled out Kenyan dishes on request. Also has good veg options. Sleep quality was good, mattress are pretty comfy for people with back problems & better than many 5 stars in Kenya. We stayed 2 nights and could do safari for a day , Bernard helped us by optimizing park entrance fees else we would have overpaid! Air Mombasa damaged our bag lock it was not opening and we had a hard time but the hotel staff were very helpful in opening. The hotel has great views of Mt Kilimanjaro and is close to the park gates, good access to get in to park and also to go out on highways.

The tent has a private entrance, a tea and coffee maker, executive lounge access as well as a terrace with garden views. this is my second time here. i preferred the tent over the cottage. the staff was lovely, food is good and the proximity to the park perfect. my only complaints are no hot water, especially coming from a safari when you’re covered in dust and i’d have liked our driver to eat with us.
