Had everything we needed and water and fruit juice in the fridge was a nice touch. We would have liked ‘proper’ mugs as the small tea cups are too hot to hold when filled with hot drinks so we bought two and left them in the cupboard. Superb value and superior to most hotel rooms.

Located in the heart of Brive-la-Gaillarde, Best Western Hôtel Le Quercy is just 100 metres from the River Correze. It offers air-conditioned guest rooms, a fitness centre and a sauna. The room was clean, the bed was big and comfortable. The breakfast was very good with many options to chose from.

Located in the centre of Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne, Hotel de Turenne is set in a 12th-century house built on the fortified city former ramparts next to the Dordogne River. Absolutely beautiful buildings, rooms to a very high standard, excellent restaurant, one of our favourite discoveries on our way home to Minervois
