This lakefront hotel is a 2-minute walk from the pier in Varenna. The historic 19th-century building features a terrace with panoramic views of Lake Como. Everything was excellent. Owner lady was very nice and pleasant. Employees were very kind. Room was clean and well maintained, with beautiful lake view. Breakfast was very tasty. I loved it. Location is good, right in front of the ferry terminal, and only 5 to 6 minutes walk from the Varenna-Esino train station. I will definitely come back to this hotel.

The view is over Milan and not the lake, but it goes on forever and has a Hollywood Hills vibe. The breakfast and all the snacks, plus honor bar are lovely and very healthy (not the bar :)). Only thing to keep in mind is that the hotel is perched very high in Brunate, so to get down you either have to take the car through the winding and tight roads, or take the funicular… if you take the funicular - don’t try to walk up from it - just trust Massimo when he tells you that it’s a good idea to have them drive you there… it is a rough, highly vertical hike back.
