We had a wonderful stay! The hosts speak perfect English and are incredibly kind and helpful — always available to guide us and offer great suggestions. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing, and we slept amazingly well. This is quite rare in Karimunjawa, where nighttime can be noisy due to prayer speakers — here, instead, we found true peace and quiet. We had originally planned to stay only three nights before moving elsewhere, but if we could go back, we’d definitely spend our whole time at Loyal Friend. It truly felt like home. The location is excellent: just a short distance from both the center and the harbor. We also rented a scooter at a very fair price — it was in great condition and gave us no issues at all. This is a special place that we’ll always carry in our hearts, and we recommend it wholeheartedly and without hesitation.

It was in a beautifull Location between rice fields with the Borobudur temple in view. The room was beautifull as well and the bed comfortable. Our host was also extremely welcoming and helpfull.

Our bungalow was very well equipped and the view from the terrace over the wonderful garden was simply priceless. The owners and staff (especially Asty) were very attentive, always available and organized everything when needed (ferry tickets, a scooter, medical care when we were sick). We have rarely experienced such warmth. That there was muesli with yoghurt for breakfast was a really welcome change! 🥰 If you are not in the mood to go to town for dinner, you can enjoy delicious food at Deepsky Villa. In addition, the location is unbeatable, close to the beautiful beaches, you can get to town in just a few minutes by scooter, but above all it is heavenly quiet. Even though we were there for 7 nights, we were sad that we had to leave.

The house is comfortable, the host Mrs and Mr Wibowo are very kind and friendly. Located near Candi Sewu . Their warm welcome make you fell at home. One day Mrs Wibowo offer me a ride to the temple nearby.. how nice of her. Will come back again next time.

This is a wonderfully homely & quirky place. The host, Ominee, is really kind, friendly, helpful & generous. The bedroom is small but there are 2 communal rooms for relaxing & also a balcony.There is complimentary water, tea & coffee. The bathroom is small with no sink, but the shower is warm when you have the knack!! It is close to many sights in Dieng & convenient for food & hiking - we spent our time exploring on foot. Fantastic value for money & a great experience in Dieng.

The hostel ia very close to the temple entrance, the reception guy is very nice and can provide info, facilities are great too (wifi, lockers, curtains for the beds, cleanliness, air con). Also, free cold water and coffee in the morning. It's a pity very little people come to spend a night in Borobudur. It's a very cute town and you can have nice walks in the rice fields just behind the temple or going towards the Chicken Church.

The room was not spacious, but it had all necessary appliances and good air conditioning. A double room was just enough for my luggage, so I suggest if you travel with a partner, get a bigger room, the price is really affordable. The bathroom might surprise you, because it has no sink, just a shower, and no mirror, which is somewhat inconvenient. The room was sparkling clean, the bed sheets and the towels smelled amazing, it was regularly cleaned and supplied with bottled water every day. As a foreigner, you might get some special treatment, as the managers are really caring and put in a lot of effort to be of best service. The breakfast is abundant, if you don't like the local style, they'll prepare you some pancakes, omelette and steamed vegetables, so as to make sure you don't go out hungry. It is a good idea to bring some small present for the lady and her husband who run the hotel (they are about 60) - it will make their day. At their place you will surely feel as a part of a big family. Please bear in mind, that although the hotel is near the city center, you cannot walk in Purwokerto, since the streets are bustling with cars and motorcycles and there are no sidewalks for pedestrians. Walking is really dangerous, so better take a taxi. And speaking of taxies, I can recommend this nice young taxi driver in Jakarta, working for the Bluebird company, who speaks perfect English and is a very honest and helpful person: +62 852-1258-2235 (Willy). You may contact him on WhatsApp in advance, and he'll pick you up at the airport, without an extra fee. I had to bargain with many taxi drivers when I arrived in Jakarta in order to get an almost fair price, while this one trusts his meter, so no need to worry. Good luck with your adventure!
