Everyday there was fresh coffee and the room is cleaned and tidy. Excellent food at the restaurant “Il Crotto” fresh ingredients and authentic dishes! The communication with the owner was excellent and help us with all kind of information. Each evening dining was served with compliments from the restaurant. It’s on 5 minutes walk from the train station and port.

A good location for a stress-free holiday in Mandello del Lario, Picobello Lago is a guest house surrounded by views of the mountain. The property features a garden, shared lounge and parking on-site among other facilities. The property has lake and garden views, and is 300 metres from Lido Mandello del Lario. Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with a picnic area. We had the nicest stay at Picobello. Our room was very spacious and impeccably designed, with a view of the mountains plus our own little balcony. Kaja, one of the hosts, welcomed us and gave us lots of useful tips on how to get around (they have even set up a corner by the entrance with some booklets and guidebooks). In the room we found complimentary sweets and infusions and while we didn't have a kitchen, we had everything else we could need for a meal: a mini fridge, plates, cutlery, cups and napkins. We also appreciated that they had left some umbrellas for the guests to borrow, as we got some rainy days. As for the location, while Mandello isn't exactly one of the most touristic spots, we actually liked it as a getaway from the hustle of other towns along the lake. It still remains perfectly comfortable to get around: you can take direct trains to Varenna, Bellano, Lecco and Milan, or a ferry to Bellagio or Lecco and from there to Tremezzo, Menaggio, Lenno and many more! Picobello itself is just a short walk from both the train and the ferry stations (about 10 min) and just 5 mins from the lake. There's also a number of restaurants close by, and we particularly liked the bakery on Via Alessandro Manzoni (I'd say don't leave without trying their pistacchio cannoli or the mushroom pizza, but really everything was superb and fairly priced.)

The staff was EXTRA FRIENDLY HELPFUL AND VERY KIND The place was quite, calm and cozy And i would definitely 100% going back to the same place if i visit como or cernobbio again 🩵

You can't get a better location - just in the front of the Duomo. Best choice in Como for people who look for something interesting and at the same time cosy and calm.
