This was a very pleasant place to stay. The room was very comfortable and clean. The bed was very comfortable and had a heating pad for the back. Good Japanese breakfast. Great area to reach most of the attractions, but not too crowded with tourists.

The location was fantastic, right in the heart of the Gion district and within walking distance of some of Kyoto’s most beautiful spots. There’s also a bus stop just steps away, making it incredibly convenient to get around the city. The hotel itself feels very new, and our room was super spacious for Japanese standards. Everything was spotless, which is always my top priority. We arrived about an hour and a half before check-in, and the staff kindly let us know our room was already ready. They allowed us to check in early at no extra charge, which made a huge difference for us. We really enjoyed our stay and would absolutely return! :)

Posizionato a 1 km da Stazione di Gion Shijo e 1,1 km da Tempio di Kiyomizu-dera, 東山の宿 藤屋 mette a disposizione camere con aria condizionata e bagno in comune, a Kyoto. Il nostro soggiorno in questa struttura è stato incredibile. La struttura si trova nel quartiere di Gion in una posizione favolosa: puoi passeggiare nei dintorni e perderti tra le viette, ma anche raggiungere templi, giardini o scendere fino al fiume e trovarsi subito in centro. La struttura è dotata di ogni comfort e anche più! La stanza è davvero bella, con un ottimo arredamento e dei futon comodissimi (prima volta che dormo su un futon senza spaccarmi la schiena). Avevamo anche un bel balconcino dove abbiamo potuto stendere i panni che abbiamo lavato usufruendo della lavatrice. Il bagno è dotato di qualsiasi cosa ed è sempre pulito. Non riesco a trovare un difetto a questa struttura, davvero, e mi dispiace che le foto non gli rendano giustizia. Ultima cosa da dire, ma non ultima per importanza, è stata la disponibilità e la gentilezza di Linda. Situato a 700 metri da Tempio Shoren-in e 1,2 km da Teatro Samurai Kembu, Azukiya prevede camere con aria condizionata e bagno a uso esclusivo, a Kyoto. Truly excellent place to stay. There was such great attention to detail, the host was so helpful and friendly and the Japanese breakfast was incredible!

My husband and I recently stayed 4 nights at Rokkon Guest House, and absolutely loved the experience. Hostess Kayoko is wonderful – incredibly welcoming, friendly, cheerful and helpful. Each homemade, Japanese-style breakfast she provided (along with a detailed description of each food item in English) was a delight. We also enjoyed tasting the different types of teas and sweets she left in our room each afternoon. The guesthouse has been beautifully renovated with great care for the details. Our upper room was spacious and included a dining table, two comfortable beds, another seating area and a small stove for warmth (which we did not need to use in November). The room had its own bathroom and shower, both very clean. The guesthouse’s location is fantastic, walking distance to the Karasuma subway line, plenty of great restaurants, Nishiki Market and Nijo Castle. If you are looking for a traditional lodging experience in Kyoto with a truly lovely hostess who gives her guests personal attention, I highly recommend Rokkon Guest House.
