We stayed at Tree Trails for 3 nights. The experience was unique and unforgettable. The location of the hotel is in the middle of a tree forest, very peaceful and calm (generators running continuously but are not that bothersome). The room was very clean, AC functioning properly, bed was comfortable. The view from the tree house was breathtaking and the pool refreshing. What made our stay really special was the incredibly kind and welcoming staff. A very special thanks to Anjali Rathnayake who went out of her way for us to have the best stay possible. The unexpected cherry on the cake was the food served at the restaurant! Truly five stars!! Chef Nissanka is a gem, highly experienced and preparing a wonderful selection of dishes with a lot of care and finesse. Tree Trails filled us with serenity and peace. If you are passing through Sigirya this is a place not to miss!

Our hosts were welcoming and shared many interesting insights with us, making the conversations engaging and informative. The vegetarian meals they prepared, as per our request, were delicious and entirely home-cooked with ingredients from their own garden. Communication with them was smooth and helpful throughout our stay. We learned a lot about Sri Lankan traditions and values, which made the experience even more meaningful. On their recommendation, we went on a safari that turned into a private tour, where we saw a variety of animals. They also gave us a free tuktuk tour around Sigiriya, taking us to a stunning viewpoint and a herbal garden with an informative tour. Their hospitality made our stay unforgettable, and we’re grateful for such an enriching homestay experience.

This place was incredible. From the moment we arrived we felt relaxed and comfortable. The gardens are absolutely gorgeous and due to the heavy rain when we visited we spent a lot of time drinking tea and sitting on the covered porch. The hosts were very attentive and available but not over bearing. They gave us tuk tuk rides at a good price to pidurangala rock and Sigiriya rock. The room was spotless and so comfortable. We’ve been in Sri Lanka now for 2 weeks and this was our favourite accommodation.

The garden is beautiful and Harsha was a gracious host. We had a delicious and very filling dinner for 1970 Rs. Harsha showed us the local native plants in the garden that they use for cooking. The location is close to Sigiriya Rock and even has a view of the rock from the dining area.

I loved sleeping in a forest-like environment. I really missed it, and this treehouse was a lovely stay in that regard. The noise/sounds/music from the forest at night is the best. We really enjoyed everything: the treehouse, the view on the rock, the Loris tour at night, the breakfasts/lunches/dinners, and the simple but clean facilities, the safari... Make sure to discuss with the host about the different activities you can do around the rock (time, price, etc.). The host will help you out the best that he can, including dropping you at 5am at the bottom of the rock if necessary! Very kind family, business encouraged, I would come back there 100%.
