Situated in Salta and with Salta Town Hall reachable within 300 metres, Clivias Hostel features concierge services, non-smoking rooms, a garden, free WiFi throughout the property and a shared lounge. One of the best places I've stayed at during my travels through South America! This newish hostel is located just one block from the main plaza . It is super clean, comfortable, safe, and quiet. The owners are incredibly kind, helpful, and welcoming. Sometimes you will get a morning coffee and there's free fruit and tea. One of the best parts is the kitchen--it is the best stocked kitchen I've used in a hostel--stove, oven, toaster, and coffee maker and tons of pots and pans that are in good condition and plates, bowls, utensils to use. Everything works and it's just a pleasant place to make a meal. This place just feels like home. The hostel has both private rooms and dorm rooms. For those staying in the dorm rooms, you get a large towel and a face towel (unheard of in Latin America) and you don't need to pay extra. The private rooms do not have en-suite bathrooms. But there are plenty of bathrooms to use. They are clean, and the showers have good water pressure and consistent hot water. The location is another plus. There are plenty of restaurants and grocery stores within walking distance. If you are coming by bus, you could easily walk to the hostel from the station. It will be about a 20-minute walk (no hills). An Uber cost me about 2,500 pesos. I have stayed at two other places in Salta and Clivias Hostel is so much better than the other places I've stayed at.

I really liked the atmosphere at this hostel! I immediately felt comfortable. The host is super friendly and prepares a great breakfast for everyone individually. The garden area is super sweet to chill in the evening and the hostel is super well equipped and the price is great. I would definitely come back here :)

EL ZAGUAN ANEXO I is located in Cafayate and features a garden. Among the facilities at this property are a shared kitchen and a tour desk, along with free WiFi throughout the property. We booked in last minute upon our arrival to Cafayate and all were handled quickly and smoothly. We were welcomed in warm gesture, the room was clean and ready, WIFI works great and the location is super great.

Situated in Cafayate, Hostal Portal del Valle has a garden, shared lounge and free WiFi throughout the property. At the hostel, every room is fitted with a wardrobe. Excellent value for money at this property. Cafayate seemed quite safe as a solo female traveller and I felt comfortable walking back to the property at night. It is fairly basic but clean and with everything you need for a few nights.
