She booked all the tours for me and gave me advice for the transfer from and to São Luís. The breakfast was really nice, with many good things to eat. The hostel is very close to the river where all the restaurants and pubs are. You can walk there in less than 10 minutes and the area is safe.

Staff is very supportive and willing to help. Only bad thing is the location, a bit far from downtown and in a "non very beautiful" neighborhood.

Situated in São Luís, 400 metres from Art and History Museum of Maranhao, Casa Guarnicê Hostel features accommodation with a shared lounge, private parking and a bar. The staff were super duper friendly, we got free towels and lots of hugs. Everyone was shirtless and free. The perfect hostel for a loving couple or single couple.

Situated in Barreirinhas and with City Hall reachable within less than 1 km, Lazer Hostel features concierge services, non-smoking rooms, a garden, free WiFi and a shared lounge. Breakfast was really good, staff were nice, nice family who were helpful and let us sort out payment two days later as it wasn’t working with the card machine. They had a kitchen which we also used to cook a few nights. Overall nice but it was more of a pousada not a traditional sociable hostel.
