Everything This is a family owned hostal, and they couldn't be nicer and more helpful. I have stayed 3 times with them already. I highly recommend them. They provide home made cooked dinner, which are delicious and they also will pick you up and drop you off wherever you need. I highly recommend them!!!

Hot showers. Fully equipped kitchen. Offers (unsecured) luggage storage before and after checkout. It's not safe to park on the street overnight. Katty can help arrange parking at a nearby secured lot for a few dollars.

I like the general atmosphere of the place, and I feel like the common spaces are nicely done to create interaction. There is also a working area you can use if you are teleworking for instance. The air conditioning is put on at night which makes it super nice to sleep. Each bed has its own privacy with curtains, a plug to charge your phone and a light. There is a shared bathroom per dorm. I paid extra for breakfast that was prepared by one of the staff. She was adorable, asked me what I would prefer and made me a different thing each morning. If you are staying more than one night, you can use the laundry service as well for some extra dollars. When I arrived, the person that did my check in also told me about all the different activities to do in and around La Fortuna, including three nice free spots like El Salto (rope swing into the river) or the hot springs. The hostel is located 5-10min walk to the city park, has plenty of small shops, markets and restaurants around and has a few parking spots if you are with a car.

Great place for families with kids. We even got invited to the dinner with Juan - the owner of the property, and his wonderful wife and friends. Plus we also got a free excursion in the sorrounding garden where Juan grows mangos, avocados, blackberries and meny other fruits. Absolutely recommend.

At the reception, they explained how to get to my next destination by public bus, the best activities to do in Fortuna, and I booked a full-day tour with them for the only day I was staying in La Fortuna. Everything was perfect. I recommend it, it’s a great place to stay.

He gave lots of great recommendations for several activities and does not want to sell tours like lots of others. Just perfect!!! This made our trip perfect and I highly recommend the hostel for everyone who goes to La Fortuna. The rooms were clean and we had a nice balkony to sit outside. It is a great hostel to get to know others.
