There are supermarkets and restaurants nearby too. The staff and the owners are so welcoming, they even hang out and go out with the guests. The backpacking atmosphere in the common area makes you travel even more. A 10 out of 10.

Idyllic Escape at Fata Morgana – Highly Recommend! I recently had the pleasure of staying at Fata Morgana in Las Terrenas, and it was a truly relaxing and memorable experience. The property is set in a serene, idyllic location with lush surroundings that immediately put you at ease. A highlight for me was the presence of two friendly donkeys that roam the grounds—they added such a charming and peaceful vibe to the stay! I traveled without children but brought along my small dog, who was warmly welcomed. The proprietor was incredibly hospitable and multilingual, which made communication effortless. She’s also a certified tour guide for the Dominican Republic, and her local knowledge was invaluable. She even assisted us with arranging a car rental, which made getting around much easier. The accommodations are individual bungalows—clean, spacious, and thoughtfully laid out with private bathrooms. I also really appreciated the communal kitchen and dining area, which included a lovely porch where guests could relax, cook, and connect. Fata Morgana has a calm, authentic charm that’s perfect for those looking to unwind and experience the true spirit of Las Terrenas. I would absolutely stay here again.

Literally couldn’t be better, hostel room was super cozy with complete privacy inside your bunk, and the public spaces were beautiful and really well kept. The photos don’t even do it justice, since they were taken all the surrounding plants and garden has grown into a lush jungle around the main building. One of the owners, Austin, was an absolute pleasure to speak with as are all of the rest of the staff and guests, truly a hub for brilliant people in one of the most untouched an beautiful places I have ever stayed. I can’t wait to come back to El Valle !!

Location is great and the land is great to walk on. Lyne is such a great host, we shared many stories and she was very helpful. So clean, fully equipped kitchen and very comfortable bed.

Judy House 2 - Lewis Backpacker Hostel se nachází v destinaci Little Bay a poskytuje ubytování s zahradou, neplaceným soukromým parkovištěm, sdíleným loungem a terasou. Lovely stay with Sue who seemed to know everybody and was a perfect host. Garden was from paradise with loads of birds, butterflies and toads (at night). We were lucky as it was not busy when we were there so quiet outdoor kitchen and beautifully kept shared bathroom. You must try Teresa’s jerk pork a few yards down the road - she was great fun whenever we visited her - she might be the heart of Brighton Beach! We stayed in February 2025.
