Set in Malang, 3 km from Velodrome Malang, Z Malang Hostel offers accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking. Zzz Malang is hands down the best budget-friendly hostel in town. The dorm room was spacious and had good ventilation. The bunk beds were comfortable, and each bed had its own power socket and towel. The bathrooms were spotless and fully stocked with essentials. The hostel is in a quiet area, but a 10-minute Grab ride takes you to the train station. Lila was very welcoming and helped me book transport to Yogyakarta. Highly recommended for backpackers looking for comfort without breaking the bank!

Located 15 km from Watu Dodol, Good Feeling Ijen Banyuwangi is set in the Banyuwangi district of Banyuwangi. There is free private parking and the property provides paid airport shuttle service. I had an amazing stay at Good Feeling the staff were super friendly, and the hostel had a great vibe. The Ijen Crater tour was incredible, with stunning views and a well organized trip. Highly recommend it!

Located in Banyuwangi, 15 km from Watu Dodol, ZZZ Ijen Hostel provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking and a terrace. I loved basically everything about this property! Great location, very clean, comfy room with aircon, well priced, extremely friendly and helpful staff. You can buy food/snacks for a reasonable price and they have free coffee and tea as well as hot and cold filtered water. Has a nice little balcony where you can watch the rain. Not incredibly social, but it’s also off season so I can’t imagine there would be anywhere more social in the area to be honest. Was clear about the fact that the blue fire at Ijen would not be available the days we were there and the staff was not pushy at all about buying tours, just very helpful. Honestly one of the best price to experience ratios I’ve ever gotten at a hostel, and the perfect place to chill or prepare for a hike. Also one of the cutest cats I’ve ever seen if my life lives here, she is friendly and very funny.

Set in Banyuwangi, 20 km from Watu Dodol, Ninap hostel offers accommodation with a shared lounge, free private parking, a terrace and a bar. I loved this little hostel in Banyuwangi, it was spotlessly clean, very quiet, the beds were so comfortable, the showers were amazing, the family who own the hostel live next door and are such kind helpful people. The free breakfast included is so delicious, way better than a lot of the free breakfasts other hostels include. This is the perfect spot to stay in Banyuwangi if you want to explore the surrounding area. I did the Ijen tour through the hostel and ended up doing it with a small group and a really great guide so would 100% recommend.

Situated within 3.4 km of Sultan's Palace and 3.6 km of Museum Sonobudoyo, ZEN MOON Hostel features rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Yogyakarta. I liked the aesthetics of the accomodation. Complimentary coffee was always set in place. It's good value for money. Beds are very comfy. The bathroom is so beautiful and original.

Ranasa Yogyakarta features an outdoor swimming pool, garden, a shared lounge and bar in Timuran. This hostel is a small gem Yogyakarta. The staff is always willing to help with a smile on their face, the breakfast is delicious and the dormitory is very comfortable. It is also very close to a nice street with a lot of good bars and nice shops. I just loved spending my days here!
